Listen, I don't hate the Knicks. I hate the media and in particular the NY media. I don't hate the Suns either. The problem is that you can count on them to make the wrong decision. So it is no surprise when it happens, and yes they deserve to be dragged when it does. When Boogie Cousins left the Kings, their fans didn't blame him that much (here or reddit or anywhere really), they blamed the organization and George Karl. Butler to Miami. That's a great fit. 20 years of the Knicks being a continuous mess is the reason why they can't attract guys like KD and Kyrie just off a whim. They got years of trying to get shit right before they have the benefit of doubt from the league. Them getting outshined by the Nets should be damning to them because of their own f***ery and being a laughing stockΒ Butler to Miami is the best fit of the day To be clear, I'm not faulting the Knicks for not getting KD. I pretty much thought that going in. What I'm faulting them for is not offering him the max. If you offer and he declines, at least you did your part. They're like the kid with a crush on a girl who doesn't ask her out and then is sad when she's with another guy. Tis better to try and fail than to never max at all. THAT'S what I think is incompetent about their situation. That money isn't an issue for them, and yet they thought it was a poor investment. If you've got mountains of cap space and only so-so talent, you can afford to trade one for the other. Josh Richardson going back. And Al Horford also to Philly. Man, Philly has a stacked starting line-up, but it's kinda ugly. Their defense is better, but their offense is a mess. Horford is a distributor, Richardson is a chucker, Harris was cold there for a lot of his run last season.

They are idiots no doubt imo for not offering him the full money but as I said I don't blame them. More so because they would have f***ed it up. If you aren't sure about his ability to stay healthy and you still offer him the cap, you are admitting you have no idea what to do wit him. You're going to have to be delicate with Durant for that full 4 year deal and off jump they seemed scared and scared money don't make no money. Off the basis of if you don't believe in it, leave it alone because they would have been dooming themselves more since that shit tends to happen. If it is me running the show, I offer him that full money and live with the consequences because you don't get that type of caliber a player interested in you all the time and even if he is only 75% of what he was, he would have a supporting cast to help him.

The lack of shooting is a killer, they wiill need to play great defense Losing Reddick is a big blow and I like Josh but he isn't a knock down shooter like JJ is

Knicks have as much space as anyone, it doesn't cost them assets to acquire him, and the need is there. Knox is an ok talent, but if all their starters reach their ceiling, SF is the biggest hole. If they don't, SF is still probably their biggest hole unless DSJ has problems distributing the ball like he did in Dallas. And NY has needed this type of a talent since Amare's knees died. If they shot their shot and he said no, fine. If they shot their shot and he signed and his knee didn't hold up, fine. Yes, people would kill them for an albatross contract, but it wouldn't be their first and it's an understandable risk today. Even if KD never comes back to the player he was, I think them passing on him is a mistake. To me, this is a risk you HAVE to take, and they didn't try. Kings with a low-key good off-season.

I like the look for Philly overall.
+ Richardon & Horford - Redick & Butler
Still a Top 4 seed in the East.
Now we all wait for Kawhi. What happened to the Clippers offseason though? Most expected big things from them.

Dallas takes on Dragic. Wow. They must not have seen him last season. Maybe he finds that efficient game again, but he was kinda declining last year and he's making 19 mil.

Morey strikes out AGAIN! Man, I wish the Rockets would get a better GM. Year after year of disappointments. And yet he's lauded by seemingly everyone in the basketball media as this forward-thinking executive who is playing chess while the other 29 teams are playing checkers, when in actuality the only really good move he's ever made in his career was getting the Thunder to sell James Harden for 25 cents on the dollar. Other than that, it's been one flop after another, from the acquisition of Jeremy Lin to the Dwight Howard signing to the Carmelo Anthony experiment to Chris Paul's ghastly contract extension. Al Horford to Philly 4 for $109 million This one stings. I was hoping Horford would sign out of the conference and I was hopeful to see that happen when the Sacramento rumors were floating out there, that he'd sign with the Kings and toil away in anonymity on a .500ish team for the remainder of his career. But to see him sign with the Sixers and know that he could come back to haunt the Celtics hurts. Horford was a consummate professional in Boston and though his numbers didn't blow anyone away, he was consistently reliable.
