Way I see it, the only team I could see Westbrook going to is the Knicks. Knicks got burned thoroughly in free agency and the draft. I'm sure the Front Office is going to want to make a splash aisde from grabbing Julius Randle. They're also one of the few teams who could afford his contract. Russ going East wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. We know he can't win in the West, so a change of scenery and opponents might do him some good. I don't see it. The Knicks have contented themselves to being a 'plucky' team this year, without any big free agents, while they try to develop their young players. It seems to be the stance they reverted to as soon as Durant tore his Achilles. Westbrook would be a huge clash with the philosophy they seem to be settling into. The next time the Knicks look to go big in free agency will be 2021 when Giannis hits free agency. By then, they'll know if Knox, Barrett, Robinson and Trier are worth anything much, and any bad contracts they had on their books will be long gone.

One bit of news breaking now - apparently the Bucks might've structured the Brogdon trade so that it granted them a $20m TPE. That would be huge to help the team bring in more help mid-season.

I think Brodie has 3 years left on the deal and the Knicks are situated to have a ton of cap in 2 years. They aren’t just looking for a player, they are looking for a team If the price is right they’d consider it in a scenario I pointed out earlier but thus fair Knicks seems to be sticking to their own game plan which includes not gambling on something that could f*** then up.

I think they are panicking a bit too much. Yeah they need some bit of a shakeup but they ran into the Warriors with bad luck.

Adding a player makes no sense when the supposed friction between CP3 and Harden is there plus D’Antoni has yet to get a new contract

CP3 and Hasrden friction...so why not go for the triple and throw in headcase Westbrook.
I don't see an issue there...meanwhile someone go find Gilbert Arenas I hear he enjoys playing with things.

The only real benefit I can see to Westbrook joining the Rockets is to cut down on Harden's usage because Westbrook is even more of a ballhog. But the clash of personalities and egos between Westbrook, Harden, and Paul would be uh, interesting to say the least.

Any Westbrook deal would essentially have to include CP3. For one, their cap would be so f***ed if they had all 3, spending almost nothing on the other positions. Secondly, unlike Butler who can play the 3 and guard the 3, none of those guys are a 3. Paul is a true PG. Westbrook is a true PG. Harden is a 2. Westbrook is bad at defense, Paul is 6 feet tall, Harden doesn't even know that you're supposed to play defense. So when you're playing a team with a 6'10 small forward, who is guarding that guy out of Paul, Harden, and Westbrook? It's a nightmare offensively trying to split the ball into equal pieces for all three guys, but it's also a nightmare defensively.

It's not like Houston is making the Finals anyway regardless.
Sometimes you just wanna see things burn.

It's no different than when the Rockets were allegedly in on Chris Bosh in 2014, LeBron James last summer, or Jimmy Butler earlier this year.

Kawhi looks like he gamed the Lakers hard
He changed the meeting at the last min so he could meet with PG13 later in the day
Also when he spoke to Magic he asked him about his comments about the Lakers and Rob and magic turned around & praised him and the front office

Thunder rebuild continues. They trade Jerami Grant to Denver for a 2020 first rounder: Grant had a really good season so good pick up for Denver and OKC sells high. If Kings didn’t sign Dedmon and still had the cap I think making a push for Schroeder and Adams would have been a good move tho I wouldn’t rule out a move for one of them later during the season Westbrook, I don’t see where he does. It’s going have to be one of those out of nowhere deals like trading CJ McCollum from the Blazers or Phoenix going all in and trading Ayton, Rubio, picks etc for Westbrook and Adams

But apparently OKC was asking for Bogi around the draft, which was before they went full fire-sale, and the Kings quickly moved on with their free agency plan. One thing I love with Dedmon, I’m sure the Kings are sink or swimming with Giles though. Adams wouldn’t lose his spot, while Dedmon is just a placeholder until Giles ascends.

The idea of Harden, Westbrook, and a bitter CP3 on the same team is hilarious to me and I badly want it.
I don't even know where Westbrook fits in the current NBA landscape, tbh. His style dictates him going to a team where he can be the centerpiece of the offense. He's obviously of no real use to a rebuilding Thunder team beyond future draft picks and maybe clearing out cap space. Maybe the Knicks can make a move for him? I'm not sure how feasible that is though. Cleveland is another choice but again, not sure how their cap space is looking.

They already basically throwing it out there they aren’t making a move on westbrook. He’s 31 which is still young but he’s getting older and that contract is horrible
