Denver has a great, deep squad this year. There's a lot of talk about the LA teams, but I can't wait for the Jazz/Nuggets battles.

Man, Iโd def take Adams / Schroeder over Dedmon / Joseph. But apparently OKC was asking for Bogi around the draft, which was before they went full fire-sale, and the Kings quickly moved on with their free agency plan. One thing I love with Dedmon, Iโm sure the Kings are sink or swimming with Giles though. Adams wouldnโt lose his spot, while Dedmon is just a placeholder until Giles ascends. If Giles ascends. *When

The idea of Harden, Westbrook, and a bitter CP3 on the same team is hilarious to me and I badly want it. I don't even know where Westbrook fits in the current NBA landscape, tbh. His style dictates him going to a team where he can be the centerpiece of the offense. He's obviously of no real use to a rebuilding Thunder team beyond future draft picks and maybe clearing out cap space. Maybe the Knicks can make a move for him? I'm not sure how feasible that is though. Cleveland is another choice but again, not sure how their cap space is looking. Only team I've heard so far that makes is Detroit. Cleveland just spent back to back top 8 picks on quasi-PGs. Detroit is barren at PG, and just signed the ghost of Derrick Rose. They've needed a point guard since Billups left. Westbrook's shots and scoring were down last year, and he gets along with bigs pretty well, so him and Blake/Drummond should go fine. And maybe the Knicks. Other than that, he would be better off just staying where he is.

There is no reason for the Heat to do this. They have a pretty good, fundamentally sound team rn. Justise and Dragic can split time at PG again, Herro adds shooting and swag to their 2, Whiteside is addition by subtraction. But I can see Riley messing it up by listening on Westbrook because of the allure of big names in the NBA. Would be the worst thing he's done in Miami tho.

I can see why Riley wants Westbrook, he wants a bit of a culture change which he got with Butler which is one of the better moves of the offseason. However, Brodie is a diff type of beast. From Riley perspective i'm guessing he's looking at the cost not going overboard but it could possibly cost him the rotation of the team. Westbrook and Butler would bring that intensity that Riley loves but could implode at any moment considering their attitudes If I had to guess on what it will cost you're looking at something like At least 2 first round picks (Miami owns all their picks besides 2021) Dragic (expiring contract), Winslow, Waiters and probably a Jones Jr. Miami has enough to not need a 3rd team to join in but they would be killing their depth to make this trade and have to sign guys who probably don't fit with the team

Iโll second the love for the Nuggets. Theyโve retained some winning pieces, and Grant is a great pick up for them. Like, damn... everyoneโs focused on the power struggles on the coast, but Denver (and Utah) are gonna be a hard team to beat.
Could they actually win the West?

Denver isn't getting the hype rn because they barely did anything but draft a guy who will be babied his first season like MPJ was. Once the season starts, they'll be a playoff team and probably a top 4 playoff team out West. They were 1 game away from the WCF already, so I don't think people are acting like they don't exist. Both conferences are as wide-open as they've been in a dozen or so years.

I think Denver goes as far as Jokic takes them. As amazing as he was, there were times where he needed to be aggressive and wasnโt. If he can consistently look for his shot in addition to his phenomenal passing, I donโt think anyone can stop him.

Nobody forgetting about Denver, they will still finish with one of the top records in the West thanks to a good returning team and the always great homecourt advantage
All the top West teams will bring their own style to the table so it will be an interesting battle.

Soooo Lakers are going to start LeBron at the 1 this season I mean heโs always the de facto one anyway but still why bring back Rondo for all that Iโm guessing line up be something like LeBron Green Bradley AD Cousins Man I remember how much of a disaster Cousins and AD in New Orleans was, and now it's an even more broken down Cousins... good luck.

Disaster in what sense? They played pretty well together and was putting up crazy numbers but the team itself just wasnโt up to par due to two (talented) big men not being the formula to win a chip The team itself played better when Cousins went out and they got Mirotic. They made the playoffs that year

Cousins / AD was absolutely not a disaster in NOLA. I hate that myth so much. They were well above 500. They were extremely hot and hitting their stride when DMC went down with his Achilles. If not being a top seed is a disaster, then sure. They were a disaster.

That team was very good, and was only getting better before DMC went down. I also think that moving Kuzma play the 4 and AD the 5 on defense, and have Rondo/Cousins coming off the bench is their best way forward

Not an indictment on him per se, more so In today NBA it is hard to win with two skilled big me Him and AD were killing together and 10 years ago they would have had teams shitting on themselves but neither guy was a Knock down enough shooter from 3 to make a true difference However, in saying that since they got Cousins I kept saying if they get the 8th seed against GS with those two I can see them upsetting the Warriors
