Man... That Westbrook contract sucks, but it looks damn respectable against the CP3 one.

I love how this coming season is shaping up as it is now not about super teams but duos really reminds of the NBA in the 90s.

As the resident Heat fan on the board, I'm fine that the deal ended up not going through. If this off-season proved anything, it's that it really is a player's league as far as recruitment goes for Free Agency.
At this point, I'd rather see how the young players play around Butler since Riley's recruitment of him was on the basis of recruiting for the 2021 Free Agency class.

According to OKC, they're actively shopping Paul now and Miami is interested for a Butler/Paul combo, which could be as hilarious as Harden and Russ really... but it would add yet another dynamic duo, if it happens
And OKC would probably get another first round pick out of it and a young player or two, shit is insane, they will probably get thrashed this year but they have set themselves up with the mother of all stockpiles for the future, whether it's for future trades or drafts
This is probably one of the most fun free agencies of any sport in awhile.

Anyone know if the Nike jerseys are still trash? I remember my sister had issues after buying some for her kids (tearing easily; numbers falling off), but I wanted to see about getting them new ones with all the player movement. Honestly I'm really digging my replica Fanatics NBA jersey. Yeah the screen printing won't stand the test of time like a stitched jersey, but I'm just glad they don't run super tight like the Nike jerseys. |

They were in on Jimmy Butler and couldn’t get it done and now this. Adding a player makes no sense when the supposed friction between CP3 and Harden is there plus D’Antoni has yet to get a new contract This feels like Daryl Morey feeding a story to his buddies in the media so they'll stay on his side when things in Houston inevitably go sideways and also to keep frustrated Rockets fans satiated during an off-season after yet another playoff flame-out. It's no different than when the Rockets were allegedly in on Chris Bosh in 2014, LeBron James last summer, or Jimmy Butler earlier this year. It looks like I'll have to eat my share of crow on this one, because the Rockets actually did acquire Russell Westbrook. Granted, it was a king's ransom for a player with one of the worst contracts in the NBA and Westbrook's time on the floor will evoke memories of Dwight Howard's tenure in Houston, but hey, Morey actually pulled it off. |

SAS made a great point about Sam Presti. He’s a good gm but he should be more successful after all the talent who played in OKC, and he has nothing to show for it.
