Even Greg Oden is looking at Boogie like "Damn bro, you have some BAD luck!" Lakers just got dealt a huge blow to the shaky depth they already had. Their curse is real. They lost out on a skill guy and now they only got McGee as the true Center What they most likely do is play small. AD is going to have to play Center and Kuzma may end up playing the 4 which would hurt their bench depth In terms of Forwards/Centers that is still out there they can possible sign for the minimum: NeNe Kenneth Faried Melo Joakim Noah LeBron: Awww man, you guys hear about Cousins? Now we GOTTA sign Melo. Lakers FO: Yeah, ummmmmmm......about that... The Lakers were gonna probably play a lot of small ball anyway considering that Kuzma and LeBron don't play the 2. Their 3 best players are all forwards. Cousins was probably gonna get like a split with JaVale at like 28 minites to JaVale's 17-ish. Now JaVale gets those top minutes at like 26 a game, and Faried or Nene gets like 13 and the small ball plays a few more minutes. It's not a huge hit, especially because Lakers still have plenty of cap room. They can even still make a move at the deadline for a big like Len, Myles Leonard, Dieng, Willy Hernangomez, or maybe even the route of Saric or Sabonis if those teams choose to give them away, which seems to be a weird NBA tactic we see too often.

I honestly don't think it is a hit at all. Cousins had no real fit with this team imo and you were banking on him just being good enough to get 15 and 8. Cousins works better with space and no way was LeBron giving him the ball to make plays. Cousins was going to be a bench player for this team at some point because LeBron doesn't need a skill Center, he needs a Center who knows his role which is where Chandler and McGeee fit in last year They also have no more cap this year. They exhausted all their cap on one and two year contracts so they will have cap this offseason but they would have to move some of their contracts this year in any potential trade later. Also without any major picks to give up, they are more likely to get a Dieng or Hernangomez than a Sabonis. I think they should go after Nene. He provides tough minutes and knows his role in a ball dominant team like he was with Harden. Tough vet and should still have a little left in the gas tank. Faried would also be a good choice as an energy guy off the bench. On paper losing Cousins will hurt because you expected some decent production and you lose a marquee name but in actuality he can be replaced by a player or two filling that role. You just lose out on an X factor because if he was healthy and 75% of what he was in his prime before the Achilles injury, you were getting 20 points a game

Nene, Noah and Faried are older but they're still all serviceable backups as far as I saw last season I doubt they roll the dice on Melo even now.

NBA is having turnover and overseas teams are willing to dish out money to get talent. China has always been an option and players are taking full advantage of it. Lance is going over there for $4 million instead of taking vet minimum to sit on the bench here. Mirotic surprised everyone in taking the deal he got from Spain. There is no real middle ground in the NBA right now, youβre either paid, overpriced or making the min

Oh yeah yesterday De'Aaron Fox left Team USA which was a little bit of a shocker
It is said he didn't feel like he would have enough playing time and with the travel involved he didn't want to go through all that traveling and not be able to play
Team USA basically has 13 players left on the team after Fox, Bagley. Tucker, and Lowry withdrew and now they only have to cut one

Kind of interesting their talking to Memphis about Howard (since they aren't keeping him) but they aren't in discussions for Igoudala Memphis will probably just cut Howard outright but they are looking for value for Iggy

Harden's only got a better 3-point percentage and free throw percentage than Jordan. Otherwise, Jordan has him beat in every other category. Including rings....

The case can be made that Harden is specifically better at getting points for himself ,but Jordan is one of the greatest defenders of all time,is a better passer, better off the ball player, better closer and better all around teammate. Show's why some of the analytic's people kind of only see some of the picture in basketball. Analytic's would say guy's like Harden and Chris Paul are 2 all time greats, but the naked eye tell's us although they are(were in Paul's case)elite all star talent they are not can build a title contender around level talent.

Harden no doubt will finish as one of the greatest scorers of all time, but he still doesn't rank on Jordan level It is also pretty dumb for the Rockets GM to go to bat about this when at this point in Harden's career, it does not matter how much he scores, only playoff success is what will determine is ranking when it is all said and done

Harden is complaining about media bias
He says, the fact the media hyped over Giannis so much is why he lost the MVP race

Harden is complaining about media bias He says, the fact the media hyped over Giannis so much is why he lost the MVP race Harden is trying for KD's crown of Most Easily Hateable Player. No defense playing, soft, choking whiner. Between that and him actually having the audacity to complain about the refs, who his superstardom is based upon manipulating, he really just comes off as the Dolph Ziggler of the NBA. Just ready for someone to hand him a chip or awards just for trying.

His shtick is getting old and the fact he has the audacity to complain when he doesn't get anywhere near the hate he should for his performances as a star player in the playoffs is crazy. He's complaining about things that clearly favors him, and eventually the refs and NBA will start to take notice. The playoffs was a perfect example of making Harden earn his points and him falling on the ground against GS showed what type of player he is It's pretty dumb of him to complain about MVP awards when at this point he should be fighting for Chips. He's in a class where MVP and single accolades don't matter anymore

The media's slobbered over Harden's gaudy offensive numbers for years the f*** he talking about? Sour apples Makes no real sense to bring this up now when it don't matter now. With the way he complained about officials during the playoffs and now this, he is basically becoming delusional and even more selfish than before
