I haven't seen the match but apparently Undertaker wasn't an embarrassment yesterday and actually looked pretty good for 54. I hope this is the case as I would hate for him to go out on a run of crappy Saudi matches.
How did he do?

I didn’t watch the Saudi show, but he definitely was not an embarrassment last night and the fans were going apeshit for him.

Redeem is a funny word. One ok performance does not wash away years of shitty ones. However, I think that he could hold his head high if he allows this to be his final match and retires from in-ring competition. However, I think that we all know that Taker will not retire from a tag match at a B-level PPV. I think we have a few more embarrassing performances from him to look forward to before all is said and done.

I thought it was okay, aside from the slight botch lifting Shane for the Tombstone he did fairly well. I think tag team matches is the best way to showcase him at this point of his career.

There was literally nowhere to go but up. Taker being used the best he can be in a tag match where he doesn't have to plan for an entire match is probably his ceiling at this point.

I think I'd be on board with legends sticking to one-off tag matches. It's a tried and true formula, historically, and I don't see any reason it can't work now.
Fans still get to see the entrance, the "greatest hits", and whatever, but the legend doesn't need to kill himself carrying half of a match (or, especially, a main event).
That could really help out future Saudi shows, too. Stick the legends in just long enough to hit a move or two then tag back out. Get creative with it. Get some awesome pictures that don't show the other guys in the match.
WWE could put on some insane dream match ups if they went that way. Hell, you could potentially get Goldberg vs Austin and/or Austin vs Hogan, provided they were each teamed with somebody else. Do Black and Undertaker vs Sting and Bray Wyatt or something. Hogan and Bobby Lashley (you know why) vs Austin and Strowman.

Best use of him for a while I think. As said the slight botch lifting Shane up at the end wasn’t a massive problem and Taker held his own throughout. Thumbs up.

He was fine, which is about as good as can be expected at this point.
He needs to do matches with younger guys who can go, not people his own age.

Match sucked but yeah, he looked alright. That was a very good match. If we’re talking snowflakes, it’s gotta be in the 3-3.5 range.

The "You Still Got It" chants gave me the warm and fuzzies and I'm sure it did a lot for Taker, coming off the Goldberg fiasco. The match wasn't bad, all things considered, and the botch at the end was more due to the fact that Shane was soaked in sweat, rather than Taker being in a weakened state.

To me he seemed pleased to put in a decent performance
From here I see him now starting a greatest hits farewell tour, culminating in a final match at Mania next year. I think he knows it's almost time to hang it up

It was his best match since his 2015 series with Brock. That's practically half the decade ago.

I think it sums up the state of things when Undertaker *not* embarrassing himself is a good performance by his standards now. Like, god damn, you used to be the coolest motherf***er ever.

Cole was creaming himself as if Taker put on a WM25-Esque clinic.
Lmao.

It was by far the best Taker match we have seen in years. He held his own and you can tell he was out to prove a point so to speak. He didn't want that Goldberg match to be how people remember him. He showed he last something in the tank, not much or MOTY still, but it not bone dry yet.

No, but they found an effective way to cover his most glaring gaps with Roman as a partner. And the other way around too. Keep em together for a bit and treat them as an attraction.

It's almost as if putting him in the ring with active performers is a good idea!
Even that bit at the end was the timing being off rather than anything else
