That United match was such a slog. I can’t believe the shambles this club has become.
I used to be excited before every match and now I dread them. I’m miserable.

Man Utd have reverted to their pre-1993 state. They might win a cup here and there, but that's about it.

Lloris’ arm. Jesus Christ that looked bad.

Liverpool steal it late with a penalty DEEP into stoppage time. 17 straight wins in the Prem. A win at Old Trafford in 2 weeks equals the all time EPL record. Not the best performance again but three points will do.

You can't give that penalty there in that situation. I'm sorry. You just can't.
A bit clumsy but, Mane flopped and would have flopped for anything close.

Yes, but the defender needs to be smarter & not make contact there. He should have put it behind for a corner instead of trying to play it out. There was definite contact & by the letter of the law it is a penalty. Is it a tough way to lose a game? Absolutely. If the shoe was on the other foot would I be annoyed? You bet your arse I would! But I'll take another 3 points against a quality team like Leicester any day of the week.

The whole point of the rule change from a couple years back was to stop people going down that easily.

The whole point of the rule change from a couple years back was to stop people going down that easily. You cannot penalize someone for going down when they get kicked in the back of the leg! If there was no contact VAR would have overturned the decision & Mane could have been booked for simulation. He got kicked in the leg & he went down. The rules state that is a foul & therefore it is a penalty. If you start sanctioning players for going down after minimal contact there will be no players left to play. One of the Leicester players got a bit of a knock in the first half & went down in a screaming heap. Should he be fined or suspended too? Players go down like Mane did 10 or 15 times a game. VAR & the rule changes are there to stop the blatant diving, not police how every player reacts after getting kicked in the back of the leg. If anyone should face further action from that game its Choudury for scything Mo Salah down from behind cynically & actually injuring him enough that he had to be subbed off.

Was it a foul? Yes. Did Mane make the most of it? Absolutely. Had he gone down straight away at the beginning, it wouldn’t have looked half as bad. Does every striker do exactly the same thing? Yes.
It’s a weird one because it if happened anywhere else on the pitch, then it would have been a foul and no one would have mentioned it again. Should it have to be “more than just a foul” to be a penalty?
I’m not saying that just because I’m a Liverpool fan and for the record, Mane rolling around afterwards made himself look like a massive tit. Salah had a spell last season where he couldn’t seem to stay on his feet and it pissed me right off. But every team has been guilty of doing so. If you’re going to punish players for making a meal of it when they’re fouled, then every player will be fined at some point.

Any attacker would have done the same as Mane. He got caught, he went down.

At least there was contact unlike this. Not that I'm bitter.

Dear God, Liverpool are winning the league this year, aren't they? They would be preferable to UAE Investment Portfolio FC. But even eight points at this stage is a deceptively large lead. It can ebb away real quick.

Arsenal somehow find themselves just one point behind Man City.
Getting the points on the board despite silly mistakes being made. Hopefully that means we can improve as the season goes on.

Have to love that the biggest talking point in English football today involved Colleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.
