Shit you're right, I wasn't thinking music genres but that's a whole big f***ing thing isn't it. Yeah, and - like wrestling - it's become cyclical with every generation. You go back to 1989 and you have Melle Mel saying KRS-ONE was ruining hip-hop and going to kill the genre. All the love and respect in the world for Melle Mel, but imagine anyone at that point really thinking that, and flash-forward to 2019 and imagine someone saying today that KRS-ONE was the exact point hip-hop fell off. It's weird, you have it with every generation. But it's predictable, which is partially why hip-hop has always remained such a vibrant youth culture - there's always some teenager doing the next out-of-nowhere thing that much of the guard isn't ready for, and even if that particular teen isn't creating a classic - he's undoubtedly influencing the rapper after him who will. nobody ever gets complacent, everything remains regionally influenced because so many different cultures have so much different impact, and the next wave is always coming. There's also the parallel in that everyone's favorite era of hip-hop is when they were in middle school/high school. I theorize it's the music being the soundtrack to so much self-discovery and major milestone, that you could obsess over that happiness a lot more. Same with wrestling. You may absolutely love things happening now or that have happened since those points, but those eras for an individual just hit different. It's a very specific comfort food that's different for everyone. Example number 1

So its agreed. We can only enjoy wrestling if it's a carbon copy of Smokey Mountain Wrestling. Also, if anybody hear laughs during a wrestling match, you'll be kicked out of the building. I mean it, guys!

Watching that again, I did not notice Jungle Boy's reaction to those kicks. It makes it so much better. I loved Jungle Boy trying on the glasses after Cassidy loses them.

I mean it, guys! Smoky Mountain had comedy all the time, even *gasp* "insider" comedy. Quit arguing with strawmen. (Of course, doing inside jokes was easier then when fandom across wrestling and everything else was so much more fragmented.)

Cody was asked about the signing on Twitter and how he would justify it and said "Easily. He’s a great & fun pro wrestler. The show is 100% sports based, but the competitors are vastly different in style and delivery." That's basically my thought as well. We saw from Double or Nothing that dudes won't sell his lazy offense. But he could use that to play mind games with his opponents and then let his actual wrestling ability takeover. He'll probably be a guy to take a lot of losses to start which is fine, you need guys like that. But at least he will stand out and offer something unique.

That was a stip for a 6-man match between the Gangstas and Tracy Smothers, the Undertaker, and somebody else...Bob Armstrong, I think. If the faces lost, they'd have to salute a black flag with an X on it. The Gangstas lost but laid out their opponents after the match and never actually saluted the flag.

Example number 1 Joe Budden sucks so much. One of the biggest haters. Talks odee shit about dudes that is successful and acting like he was the most successful recording artist ever. Cassidy got more hits than he does and Cass is mostly an underground rapper despite a few successful albums

I still think it's funny how this all originated from a gimmick of clearly being hungover to now it just being a slacker.

I've never seen any of the matches with the Prince Kharis character to confirm this, but Cornette has said that he insisted the SMW announcers sell him as a large, mentally unhinged man who dressed like a mummy to throw off his opponents rather than trying to tell the audience he was an actual mummy come to life. The character was apparently pushed on him by SMW's financial backer.

It is odd,as an Ant I love Orange. But as Orange he does nothing for me. And I am a bit puzzled why the IWC seems to think he is this amazing thing. Dude has talent.
But then I also love Joey Ryan.

For anyone that questions OC's ability, I've always cited this match. It is 25 minutes, but please take the time to watch and see exactly what he can do.

Probably going to rank top 3 in my matches of the year, and I was fortunate enough to be there to see it in person. He's done some incredible things at Beyond and it is sad that so many people just pigeonhole him as a comedy wrestler.
