We adopted a 4 month old cat last week for my fiance's birthday. The first two days he was super loving and affectionate to both of us, but now he only is with her. He doesn't give a shit about me and even hides when she leaves. I'm actually pretty bummed about it. Sucks. Where was he adopted from? He might have been mistreated by a man previously; at one point I had a kitten who became terrified of men because my boyfriend at the time was awful to her. She was fine with women, but hid from men. (Although I don't know why your kitten would have been affectionate at first if that was the case). Maybe try bribing him with treats, food is generally the way to a cats heart.

The reason we picked him is because he came up to us first and was incredibly affectionate and playful with both of us. If he'd been standoffish at the beginning it wouldn't really bug me since that's how it goes, but it's night and day and I don't know what could have happened. Maybe it's because I've been out of the house a lot more? She's had the week off from work and has spent most of her time with him. I haven't been alone with him longer than an hour or two yet. Yeah, I've been hooking him up with treats, playing with him, and leaving him alone when he wants to be. We'll see how it goes. It's only been a week so plenty can change. I am really happy that they're bonding so well though; I'd be a lot more upset if it was the other way around since she really wanted a kitty.

I’ve got Rush, my 11 year old polydactyl cat. Got her from a friend who had to move, she was 1 when I got her There’s Carly, named after an iCarly commercial. I got her when I was drunk and leaving 7-11, some girl said she couldn’t taken the kitten home can you take it. I said “Yup” and brought her home. She’s 9 now, she was 8-10 weeks when I got her Then there’s Gizmo and Archer. Gizmo being the white, supposedly purebred but I have questions, Shih Tzu and Archer being the black chihuahua x shih pom. Giz is a judgemental little f***er, and acts like a prissy house cat and Archer is a hyperactive little bastard who tries to f*** everything. 9 and 6 respectively. Yes, she’s riding him like a horse here. Family Picture
