My review {Spoiler}It's definitely got a more restrained feel to it. Bond doesn't go out and conquer any other female other than Swann (and even then, their sex is blink and miss)
Swann is an interesting character let down by an annoying actress. For some reason, she takes Bond back but is content to let him think he isn't the child's father until Safin tells him the girl is his.
Speaking of the villain... he's barely in it. The first half teases a much more interesting plot with Safin vs Spectre...but then does nothing with it, nerfing one of Bond's biggest bads in the process with considerable ease, though at the very least Bond gets the final say on Blofeld's fate, the nanobots do their business, but they only do so because Bond is emotionally compromised and wrings his neck
Safin gets his licks in with a few shots and is the one to poison Bond, but is pretty much a pushover. His men are all wiped out because they happen to be lousy shots and Bond's got plot armour enabled
I will say one thing, Bond's female agent contact in Cuba is someone he should have banged. She's lovable, kickass, draws a fine line between intelligent and somewhat ditzy, she'd have been a perfect female 007, and she had a lot more quirks and range. And she's only in it for ten minutes
I thought for sure that Bond would see a vision of Vesper drowning when he saw Felix's corpse floating in the water, just to draw parallels
Overall judgment is that it's a fun, if predictable, Bond adventure that ties up all the loose ends of Craig's era, Bond is still the lead and gets the lion's share of the action...but even with the ending in mind, it feels very safe because you know, regardless of where we are in the world, Bond keeps us safe, and here he once again does that.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I enjoyed it but that ending is gonna be hugely divisive amongst Bond hardcores for sure but what worries me is now that they have opened that can of worms now every director going forward is gonna wanna just kill off Bond for the sake of it just as shock factor.
Best part of this for me though....I want more Paloma in my life she was so much fun reminded me of a classic bond girl from like the Rooger Moore , Timothy Dalton era of Bond too bad she is only around for a very small amount of time.

I like Daniel Craig but I'm glad to see the end of the Casino Royale arc. It's been interminable.

Does {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Savin actually qualify as the Bond villain with the least amount of screentime shared with the main character? He only really has two very scenes with Bond, and they look like they were filmed on a random lunch break

I’m gonna give the movie a chance, but I’m not loving the synopsis I read. {Spoiler}I f***ing HATE the concept of James Bond being a codename, so I hate them killing him. I much prefer the way they usually handle it with new actors “Uhhh, yeah, that’s James/Felix/Whatever”. No need to make big explanations on the changing of the guard, just make entertaining movies. I love the Craig Bond movies (for the most part) but I don’t like the ramifications of turning his Bond into a 5 movie storyarc. It’s been an up and down ride, but they might have been better to treat Bond movies as stand alone with loose threads carrying over instead of doing honest to god sequels

I hope that the next movie goes back to the (extremely) loose continuity of the Connery-to-Brosnan movies.

I like Craig but I couldn't care less about the other characters so it felt like it dragged. I didn't like the ending at all. And yeah, it felt like he was barely in the movie. I didn't like the Zimmer score either. It felt too dark and very out of place for Bond. There was actually one shootout scene where I swear he just ripped off one of his Batman scores.

More so then most Connery bonds have issues The reason I haven't watched them for years is mostly (and ironically given my evidently fuzzy memory on villain screen time) was due to overfamiliarity. I guess enough time and distance has occurred where I can refresh myself on them again, rofl. Speaking of 'problematic', Live and Let Die aired just the other day.

Yeah, that one is also problematic. But I’m 35 and white so I’m able to turn a blinder eye to a lot of things that other people might not. I love Live and Let Die, but once again. Totally get why others can’t.

Another thing I like about this one is during the end credits {Spoiler}It's nice to see a Bond film close out with an outro song. Even if it's a reuse of "All The Time In The World", there hasn't been a Bond outro since Tomorrow Never Dies. I hope they bring back that tradition for the relaunch of the franchise

I thought it was excellent, best of the new bonds since Casino Royale. Not perfect by any stretch, but its emotional notes landed for me and some fun action setpieces.
The best part for me was the unexpected Knives Out reunion. Had no idea Ana de Armas was in this! And of course she was fabulous.

Daniel received his star on the Hollywood walk of fame yesterday It'd be cool if under that star was a secret MI6 cache full of guns.

Seems we had another Bond in attendance. George Lazenby fell victim to the old "is James Bond still relevant? question that idiots ask every time a Bond movie is released. He stupidly thought the answer was no. It never will be.
