Man, after watching that, I'm excited as f*** to see this movie.
I don't know if I'll go see it in theaters, though. I'll see what the situation looks like in 2 months.

After how Tenet did at the box office I’m really surprised they haven’t pushed back the release date

After how Tenet did at the box office I’m really surprised they haven’t pushed back the release date I read an article basically saying Bond has to come out because they’d lose more money on having to shift advertising campaigns than if the movie had to get moved.

I wonder if it would help if, they released movies now, then later, re-released them when the theaters have more capacity? That could alleviate some of the money worries....though I am not sure how theater runs work and what the rules are.

digging a bit deeper, per wikipedia
At the height of the pandemic, an estimated 70,000 theatres in China alone had been closed, and many countries including Australia and Britain moved to close cinemas as a means to minimise the spread of the virus. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the delay cost MGM between $30 and $50 million because of the costs of marketing that had already been purchased, although the publication also estimated the potential box office losses globally would have exceeded $300 million had the film stayed in its April slot.
this was the movie I was looking forward to seeing the most in 2020 --- I'm just going to wait until it comes out on bluray, guessing most people will too
all completed films that were set for a theaterical release I think are going to have to heavily rely on to make a profit DVD/bluray releases/streaming for the forseeable future are how the production companies are going to make a profit

Yeah, it's gonna lose money, it's just a question of minimising the damage. MGM doesn't have Disney money, so they're not going to be able to keep delaying any of their movies.

I guess it's now coming out on Final Four weekend (Should there be a college basketball season)

Couldn’t care less. The Bond series died to me the minute Daniel Craig took over as Bond. I’ve always said he’d be better as a Bond villain not as Bond himself.

With the film now coming out on thew day before the NCAA basketball Final Four is scheduled to be played (IF there is college basketball being played by then and if all goes well) will it impact No Time To Die's box office in any way?

Couldn’t care less. The Bond series died to me the minute Daniel Craig took over as Bond. I’ve always said he’d be better as a Bond villain not as Bond himself. I know exactly what you mean. When he flipped the Aston Martin in Casino Royale and carried on with the Ford, it kind of stopped being Bond for me and became generic spy action movie trying too hard to be Jason Bourne. Not seen Quantum of Solace. Skyfall was literally The Dark Knight story in the Bond universe. Could someone please remind me what happened in Sceptre? I was on a long haul flight (remember those?) and dozed off after the first car chase and never really watched it since. It made Bond boring. I'm looking forward to the new Bond being announced. I long for the suave, gadget wielding Bond to return and not a thug in a suit as Craig has portrayed him.
