The angle itself or just the reveal?
Because I loved the Anonymous GM itself. "Edge you got the crazy eyes"

It has to be the higher power reveal. It mean, it came off like “dammit the guy we had lined up to be the higher power fell through, who do we get now?” Vince: “Goddammit I’M the higher power now!”

What also makes the Higher Power such a bummer is that it turned the Ministry into a corporate lackeys as opposed to a separate entity threatening to take over the WWF.
I wish they actually went through with the Ministry briefly taking over the company so we could have one or two weeks of Raw with Taker as the GM.

"Nash was involved?!" .....lol, knapp, he was the one in the hummer in the first place. I honestly thought it was Hogan in there. Yeah, wow, I did not remember any of this and kinda glad for it. That recap is insane to read 20 years later, remembering this stuff at the time probably put some folks in psych wards.

I think the list of good ones is shorter. DDP stalking The Undertaker's wife and... That was a good reveal that turned into something stupid. It should have stayed as DDP playing mind games instead of becoming obsessed with Sara. Also, Undertaker basically having to squash one of the top stars of WCW because ego. I remember reading stuff all day saying that it was gonna be Shawn Michaels, then when DDP was revealed, it blew my mind.

Flair revealed as the Black Scorpion when the whole idea was to establish a new rival for Sting.
For a non-reveal, the photographer who cost Hogan the match at KOTR 93. I don’t know if they were going anywhere with it had Hogan stayed but once he was gone it was never mentioned again.

For the inverse, have ANY mysteries and reveals been good?

At least it was a reveal. And it also drew money. The Hummer angle basically destroyed WCW in mid 1999 and they never recovered. The Hummer deal was so horrid that the guy who was run over did a heel turn while the angle was still ongoing (Nash), the mastermind behind it quit the company (Savage), and none of it ever made any sense. Can we point out that the angle totally had a logical and satisfying reveal, as Sid appeared at the PPV to assist Savage, and is exactly the type of psycho that would think nothing of smashing a Hummer into a limo to hurt someone really bad. So go figure WCW decides that he isn't the Hummer driver because they want to have Nash and Sting do a reluctant tag partners angle, but then Nash loses the title to Savage in the tag match with Sid as Savage's partner, only for Savage to drop the title to the returning Hogan to set up Nash going heel against Hogan. And that's the end of the angle with no Hummer driver revealed (despite having several plausible suspects in the last sentence alone), but at least Hulkamania is back. Yay?

Oh I did mention Sid doing the run in at GAB 1999 and that he was the obvious culprit. From what I recall one of Savage's big beefs with Hogan was that Hogan had them bury the Hummer angle because he thought it sucked. Sorry, Randy, but the Hulkster is right about this one. They did need to just do a reveal though.

Let me try and recall the entire Hummer Angle: --Randy Savage was feuding with Kevin Nash in late Spring/early Summer 1999. One week Nash humiliated Savage by having a contortionist chick dump sewage or something on Macho and then the next week Savage planned his revenge. Madusa, Gorgeous George, and Miss Madness lured Nash into their limo only to bolt, leading to a mysterious white Hummer smashing into the car and nearly killing Nash. Thus began the whole thing as to the mystery driver. Who did Savage get to run over Nash? --At the Great American Bash PPV Sid does a run in on the main event and this would have been a good payoff for the driver, but then they said it was NOT Sid. For the next few weeks they had various mystery Stings driving around in Hummers implying it was Sting, although the real Sting professed his innocence. This led to a convoluted PPV main event where Nash teamed with Sting vs. Macho/Sid and the world title was on the line and I believe it was possible for Sting to actually pin his own partner to win the title. Savage won the title and lost to Hogan the next night, but the driver was never revealed (though they hinted it might be a woman?). --At this point these guys drift into other feuds. Savage ended up feuding with Dennis Rodman at Road Wild and hinted that the Hummer driver might attack Rodman (this was I think when Carmen Electra was rumored?), while Nash turned heel to feud with Hogan after Hogan returned to the red and yellow. Nash put his career on the line and lost at Road Wild. Savage also basically quit WCW around the time of Bischoff's meltdown in Aug. 1999, frustrated over Sid being pushed over him and a bunch of other stuff. Sting lost to Sid at Road Wild, but ended up #1 contender for Fall Brawl somehow while Sid got a U.S. title shot against Benoit. --So you'd think the Hummer angle has just been buried, but you'd be wrong. Lex Luger now interjected himself into the main event of the next PPV, Fall Brawl. Sting was facing Hogan for the world title. Luger now insisted that it was Hogan that may have been the driver and that Sting shouldn't trust Hogan. Thus if true the face Hogan at the previous PPV had actually tried to kill the heel Nash by running him over with a Hummer. Luger produced silly pics with Hogan around Hummers, etc. Hogan was not the driver of course, but Sting didn't care and bashed Hogan with a baseball bat and turned heel to win the title. Bear in mind the original victim of the attack, Nash, had turned heel and lost a retirement match since this angle began. --Around this point Russo and Ferrara came in and they dropped the whole thing, at least for a long time. In April 2000 they did a wacky bit on Nitro where Bischoff tried to hit Hogan or someone with a white Hummer. I don't know if this was an implication that Bischoff did all of these attacks or if he was just a copycat of the original fiend. So, after recapping all of this is there any doubt this stuff was the worst mystery angle of all time? At some point, Road Warrior Animal somehow got sucked into that whirling dervish of bullshit...

Hornswoggle revealed as the anonymous Raw GM. I'll do you one better and say Hornswoggle being revealed as Vince's illegitimate son. They could have legit made Ken Kennedy a permanent main eventer that night. Dude was on the cusp as it was, and the crowd were so into him being the son during the reveal as well.Maybe better he wasn't though, with hindsight and all that... Had he not put his foot in his mouth before that, he may have been Vince's son. --So you'd think the Hummer angle has just been buried, but you'd be wrong. Lex Luger now interjected himself into the main event of the next PPV, Fall Brawl. Sting was facing Hogan for the world title. I felt I had to do it since people were saying the Higher Power or anything else. Was Vince a silly reveal? Yeah. Did it draw money? Yeah. Was it at least a payoff? Yeah. The Hummer angle was just horrid, had no real payoff, was convoluted as hell, and killed the heat of basically everyone at the top of the card in WCW (Savage, Nash, Sting, Luger, etc.).
Now I have to ask...Road Warrior Animal? When was he involved in this? Even I don't remember that.

The Higher Power was awful. I loved The Ministry too. I thought it was so cool and then it turned into The Corporate Ministry. I just stopped caring at that point.
Black Scorpion being Ric Flair. Just maybe actually sign the guy you want or have a backup plan before starting an angle like this?

Matt Hardy being the one who attacked Jeff Hardy (and also confessing arson and attempted murder). Mainly because a blind man could have seen it coming.
(Not the worst though -- that's probably the Higher Power or the Hummer one)
