Just cuz he was a fine talent, an underrated actor, and seemingly just a good dude that left us too soon. If the man was on-screen in anything, you knew he'd get a smile out of you.
Appreciate this man.

I remember he had this cartoon about camping, but I don’t think it was his best

Even if the film wasn't so great he was always enjoyable in it
Also great on SCTV (a bunch of that cast is underrated)
A film like Uncle Buck I can watch again and again

He swallowed a lot of aggression... along with a lot of pizzas! Stripes is legitimately the greatest comedy film ever made. "Son of bitch! Shit!"

Great actor. Always charming and funny.
Would have had a great career in more dramatic roles too away from comedy.

A cuddly buffoon in the best of ways. The sort of actor who could always make you smile.

I love John Candy, and can't stand it when people used to compare Chrid Farley to him.
A lost movie, Volunteers, had a great John Candy performance in it as an unflappable American citizen that is almost immediately brainwashed by Communists.

I'll always lament that Candy didn't get the chance to do more dramatic acting because he did a fantastic job in JFK and in terms of great emotional performances, damn if he didn't knock it out of the park here:

He was tremendous. Such a sad loss and echo the sentiment he should have had more straight roles.
Cool Runnings is cheesy fun, but the scene where he confronts the committee excluding the Jamaican team for his own former misdeeds is great, dramatic and with a minimum of any schmaltz or melodrama in a film it was hard to have anything but.

I remember he had this cartoon about camping, but I don’t think it was his best Camp Candy. I can't remember much about it, but at the same time Rick Moranis had a cartoon called Gravedale High.

Candy was incredible. He had a lovable, goofy, everyman charm that's becoming exceedingly rarer. Like others, I wish he'd gotten more dramatic roles because I really feel like he could've had his Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting moment.

Always the funniest part of anything he was in, which is a huge feat considering he worked with the likes of Steve Martin and Bill Murray in some all-time classics.
