Castle was full of references to firefly and several of the cast showed up. Didn't they do an episode where Nathan Fillion is dressed as Mal for Halloween and his daughter makes a crack like "When are you going to let it go?" to which he basically says "Never"?

Futurama had Jake and Finn from Adventure Time have a guest spot, while Adventure Time had Billy West play 3 characters that had the same voice as Fry, Zapp Brannigan, and Prof Farnsworth.

Sharon Gless played an old friend of Tyne Daly on Judging Amy.
How the hell did Larry Hagman not guest star on Step by Step I will never know.

Since you mentioned Larry Hagman, I just had to look up if Barbara Eden had appeared on Dallas. It turned out she did. Also, it would have been cool to see John Ritter appear on Step By Step, but I think that was during the time when Suzanne Somers was probably not talking to him (There would have been no way for Joyce Dewitt to appear because this was way before they had mended fences). Or maybe it was because John Ritter had that show Hearts Afire.

Cheating, but....
The numerous sitcoms Alan Hale and Bob Denver appeared on as Skipper and Gilligan (sometimes accompanied by other GI cast). ALF, The New Gidget, the movie Back to the Beach....
I'm pretty sure there's some from Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated that I'm not thinking of.
How about Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan starring together on Maude, and then the Golden Girls?
Yet another stretch, but....Peter Tomarken and Rod Roddy as host/announcer on Hit Man, then more famously, Press Your Luck?

Richard Mulligan and Dinah Manoff appeared on Soap together, then starred in Empty Nest ten years later. Empty Nest itself was a spinoff of Golden Girls and featured occasional guest appearances by that cast. As well, Jennifer Salt and Donnelly Rhodes, who played Eunice and her husband Dutch on Soap, guest starred at some point. Matthew Perry and Debra Jo Rupp also made appearances, and would later work together on Friends.

The old BBC 'sitcom' Two Pints of Lager's main cast had a couple of call backs, Ralf Little and Sheridan Smith played a long term couple having previously been a couple in series 3 of The Royle Family while their character's friends were played by Natalie Casey and Will Mellor who had appeared together on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks

To try to add to the conversation.... well, the most bizarre Hollywood fact I know is that Jennifer Salt is now a producer on, of all things, American Horror Story. So it's a huge missed opportunity that they never did a Soap reunion before Robert Guillaume and Katherine Helmond were alive. Oh, also, there was the whole big weird Twin Peaks reuinion episode of Psych.

Eric Peterson who plays Oscar was on Street Legal for 7 years

Not completely the same thing but HIMYM did some cute wink casting by having the spouses of three castmates in recouring roles.

In The House, LL Cool J's 90s sitcom had Alfonso Ribeiro's character parents being played by his Fresh Prince parents (well obviously the second Vivian), and I think Jeffrey played the minister of his wedding to Lark Voorhies character (she was in an episode of Fresh Prince too)
This was after the first 2 seasons, which saw the show completely revamped and Ribeiro had played Carlton in a crossover in the second season along with Ashley

This is can best be seen in the kitchens.

Would have been cool had they had James Franco or Seth Rogan as one of Marshall's old high school friends.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet given the FAN knowledge, but an episode of the A Team - and subsequently the opening credits - had them (I think) at Universal Studios. A Cylon from ‘Battlestar Galactica’ walked past Face (Dirk Benedict aka Starbuck from BG) who gave him a ‘Don’t I know you from somewhere?’ look.

Not a tv show, but the Mel Gibson movie Maverick has one of my favorite nods, when Glover and Gibson's characters meet during the bank robbery.
