We have the "Don't Remake" thread. How about shows and movies that can/should be remade, rebooted, continued?
I know there's LOTS of demand for a new Black Cauldron (moreso since the original cartoon is a cult classic, but has its weaknesses despite that).
As for continuations/reboots...I vote for BBC's Mongrels, easily.
Both had conclusions more or less, but I'd have loved another Galavant season as well. The Real O'Neals too, which had more open ends (Aunt Jody being pregnant, for instance. Kenny's friend moving in.)

I'd love to see a modern version of Logan's Run. The first film adaptation is solid in parts. but is so relentlessly 70s in aesthetic and the thematic elements somewhat unexplored that a contemporary remake with an improved script, good DP, and focused director could work wonders.
Honestly a lot of early to mid 70s science fiction falls into this; the redone versions of Westworld and the Planet of the Apes trilogy both worked out well, and stuff like Silent Running & more obscure works like Z.P.G. could turn out great in the hands of a talented filmmaker who knows the material.

Superman. Dudes the greatest and most well known superhero of all time, and they can't seem to make a good movie of him.

I was going to say that a remake where the Six Million Dollar Man is obscenely conflicted about being a cyborg could be interesting, and then realized that is essentially RoboCop, which not only had sequels but was remade itself. I then learned that Marky Mark is currently making an actual remake of the 6MDM, so my joke is doubly invalid.

The Last Starfighter.
I've heard they've been trying to reboot it lately, but so far radio silence.

And even so, if they find a way to DO IT RIGHT, please leave out Krypton exploding, etc. etc. We don't need it. Just continuing adventures of the Man of Steel.

The Black Cauldron. The original was badly adapted and it's darker tone didn't cater to eighties audiences, but with modern audiences embracing darker tones, longer story arcs and sword/shield adventures in vogue thanks to GoT a live action remake could be a success.

Short Circuit remake has been in production hell for about 10 years now. As for Doom, it's not a remake, but a reboot:

They gotta do these Narnia movies right this time. They did them pretty right the first time...when the BBC made them.

Honestly I say if you're going to keep trying to milk the property, remake Harry Potter. There's a lot of room for improvement with the earlier movies and I'd say it's been long enough.

I'm always torn on whether Silent Running could/should be remade.

Sliders - So 90s, would like to see a modern take.
Tru Calling - Basically heroine goes back in time to save somebody who died that week, was fine. Later a rival was introduced and he’d try to ensure nature took it's cause. The rival wasn't evil though, just philosophically opposed which made for an interesting dynamic, a few twists made it look like it was going to get really interesting... then cancelled.
Journeyman - Yeah I like time travel, this was good but killed by writers strike.

Yeah, I said it. Give me faithful adaptations of the book series. All 14 of them.

The Last Starfighter. I've heard they've been trying to reboot it lately, but so far radio silence. If they did a remake, the Starfighter game would have to be an online game or at best a game for a home console, since arcade games arent as popular as they once were. And on that note, I wonder what a Tron remake would be like.
