From the sound of things Minoru Suzuki's match with Liger will be his last in New Japan. According to Voices of Wrestling hes not happy with his position, and would have left already if it weren't for this angle.

If true a shame, I'd hope he'd at least stick around until Wrestle Kingdom.
So is it now Sabre or Taichi's faction, and do they do a post match beatdown to kick him out?

I could see it going to either guy, honestly. ZSJ is the bigger star, but Taichi's risen a lot in popularity. Both pull off the sadism well.

Really sucky news. But considering Taichi’ popularity spike, he would definitely be my pick as the next leader of the faction, especially if ZSJ has more outside commitments.

It sucks for New Japan but I can see why Suzuki’s in that headspace.
On the other hand...I REALLY want to see Suzuki/Orange Cassidy for some reason.

They speculated another NOAH run (probably given his friendship with Nosawa) and while he’s winding down and his last stint there was pretty bad I can’t imagine them making the same mistakes again. He’ll be below guys like Kaito/Kennoh but could still have pretty great matches with Sugi or join his unit. Popping up in DDT or AJPW could be good for stints too.
As for who takes over, I really hope it’s Taichi.

Suzuki in NOAH was terrible and nearly wiped out half the audience of it during his last run.
Thanks but no thanks.

It was reaaaaaallly bad but tbf it was bad because he was booked on top for the entirety of it and fans hated shenanigans every match. Considering their current roster I don’t think the former is in play and without Suzuki gun the latter isn’t either. If either the new management is totally brain dead.

It’s a real shame. I think Suzuki still has a lot to offer, even if it’s as more of a midcard gatekeeper guy that a consistent main eventer. His loses to Okada and SANADA this year were great and the Liger angle has been phenomenal. I’d like to see a lengthy Sabre/Taichi/Suzuki battle for control of Suzuki-Gun and it’s a shame it doesn’t look to be happening.

I would honestly though would love to see him become a wandering warrior, and striking fear into the hearts of wrestlers around the world. He's still freelance though so there's a chance he could do both NOAH and terrorize the world of wrestling. Of the Japanese wrestling crowd from the 80s/90s he's definitely my favorite. Huge loss for NJPW, but a big gain for the rest of the wrestling world.

I will say, if Suzuki walks out and isn't jumped by Suzuki-Gun, it'd be interesting to see if it all is resolved quickly who leads the faction, or if it becomes a war. If it is the latter, I could see TAKA being the guy who doesn't immediately choose a side, since I figure whoever he flocks to would be the natural successor.

Sabre-Gun has such a cool ring to it. Hoping Zack takes over purely for that reason.

Suzuki bout to be All Elite I'd imagine not, but that'd be pretty wild.

Suzuki bout to be All Elite Perfect setup would be MJF issuing an open challenge for anyone in the world to face him.
