{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Here's how this shitpile ends.
{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} The end of the movie consists of what's left of the League (half of which are now cyborg abominations made of the remains of the Leaguers killed in the first five minutes) and Titans (Robin, Raven, Cybernetic Abomination Starfire, and post-Lazarus Pit resurrection insanity Nightwing). The Earth is off track and they're either going to burn or freeze to death. It's so bad that Constantine just convinces Flash (who conveniently survived) to go make a new Flashpoint because "it can't be worse than what we got." What in the actual f***? At least we have Young Justice. When the hell are we getting Season 4 anyways?

I needed another reminder that it's been a loooong time since the DCAU.... DC's animated output has been way downhil for years... but just from what I have heard it does sound like Ultimatum... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Here's how this shitpile ends.

I pretty much gave up on DC's animated division about 20 years ago, which is a real shame since at their height they put out some of the best animated shows of all time.

Sad Funeral would be a film about the death of Batman & it'd be 80 minutes about how great he was with each tale being more ridiculous than the last, ultimately being that he had all of the powers of the Justice League combined. Only if it ends with everyone attending the funeral doing the Batusi. And then he just gets out of the coffin, dusts himself off, makes a snide comment about all the weepy shit, and walks away like an asshole as the priests genuflect to him.

There's been some great things to come out of DC animation since then. There's just an increasing amount of output that the good stuff is getting lost in the shuffle of mediocrity.

I think they might just due to DC Universe and HBO Max both being prime locations for it but I hope they never try any kind of actual DCAU revival. Both Batman & Harley Quinn and Fatal Five are absolutely terrible.

Add "tastes like chicken!" as a line of dialogue and this would be a lovingly faithful adaptation of Marvel's Ultimatum.

The same few producers seem to work on all the DC (and also many WB) animated shows. Most of the folks who headed up B&TB are working on Harley Quinn and Teen Titans Go and DC Super Hero Girls. One of the key guys - James Tucker - doesn't seem to have any DC/WB credits since 1 or 2 of the mid 2010's DTV movies. EDIT: lofl, apparently Tucker produced this. Wasn't updated on his imdb when I typed that above.

Well, I got curious enough to watch this thing. I don't even know how to structure full paragraphs on it. I think I'll just spoiler tag a pro and con list for anyone interested. It was a doozy. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Pros:
- John Constantine. Best part of the film by a ludicrous margin. - Darkseid finally depicted as the unthinkable evil they always told us he was. - Damian's character growth. - Lois Lane being a badass resistance fighter. - Everything with the Suicide Squad. - Swamp Thing. - Superman, even when most of the planet is dead and global extinction is imminent, is last seen rallying the remaining heroes to go save lives.
Cons:
- DC murder porn. Could have told the same story without the gore. - Turning Diana into an abomination. I was fine with just about everyone else, but she is THE icon for women in the DC Universe. They essentially raped her, while making sure Superman and Batman were restored to their full selves in the end. - Aquaman and Hal Jordan dying in a freaking montage. - Teasing a kickass hero moment for John Stewart, only to vaporize him as he accomplishes nothing. - Trying to cram one of Raven's key storylines from the comic into the last 10 minutes of this garbage movie. The Teen Titans cartoon series did it way better, and with 100% less Starfire guts. - Constantine breaking the fourth wall and blaming this shitty New 52 animated universe on Barry Allen. It felt like when WWE blamed Baron Corbin the character for their actual shit writing. These movies didn't have to suck after The Flashpoint Paradox. But, when they're being run by Zack Snyder's storyboard artist...

But the entire animated universe kept running with his blueprint which was already at least 10 movies deep.

Why not call it Future's End? Because instead they had to name drop New Gods terminology into this thing's title. Taking a dump on Kirby's grave would've been a kinder act.

Ah yes, DC's most supernatural of heroes, Batman. Lol, yeah. I love me some Batman, but I can't stand DC making him part of everything. It seems like every DC storyline I read, regardless of what character it is, has an appearance by Batman at some point, if only for a few pages.

I think the problem is that they don't actually use him for the purpose they should. If he shows up in tons of stuff, okay, fine. But use him as a "draw" to sell the book, then get eyes on the lesser characters inside. Instead, they feature Batman, then make him the center of attention every time. To me, he's got Detective Comics and Batman to be the star. In Justice League, The Outsiders, anything like that? I'd much rather see him from the other characters' POV.
