WWE are never going to shut up about this are they? At the end of the day it’s all a sham pushed as “progress” when there are still women in jail in Saudi for the awful awful crime of daring to ask to be allowed to drive. I bet women won’t be allowed to attend this show without their husband accompanying them either. Don’t let WWE fool you with their PR. Tyson Kidd: Look, you're making miss the Super Jr. Tag League for this?!

I respect WWE for getting them booked, but I cannot think of a bigger torture than to be stuck in Saudi Arabia under hot lights in a full bodysuit. I'd rather watch Dolph Ziggler do stand up. Their outfits will probably be make of some of that light cloth stuff like Kevin Owens's ring gear. Less blazing hot than it looks

Well done wwe. They don't do much these days that would make anyone proud, but this should be commended.

This can only be a good thing. I’m not up to scratch on Saudi Arabian politics, but I’ve read from a couple of people that Bin Salman has been trying to force changes in the country since becoming the leader? Again, I’m sure he’s done some questionable stuff. But supposedly it’s getting better, bit by bit. Can anyone confirm this? Not without breaking the board rules. Google is your friend.

Without putting too much emphasis on detail, it's often a situation of one step forward, two steps backward. They can embrace Western entertainment all they like, there's a lot of other stuff they gotta fix up first.

Yeah, while the Crown Prince has done some good internally, and does seem to want to promote change, there are still other things he has done that are definitely not good, and lots of that continues. However, change does take time and sometimes, small steps, even clearly orchestrated publicity stunt small steps, should be accepted. It takes a long time to undo 1200 years of societally enforced views, especially when there are still older generations holding on to them. Something is better than nothing.

I feel incredibly uncomfortable about the Saudi deal in general, but I do think this is a good step. Representation is incredibly important and this will make a big impression on a lot of people. Small steps in the right direction are still steps. Will WWE pat themselves on the back about it? For sure. But there will be little girls that watch this and it will mean the world to them, so let them congratulate themselves.
What I think is interesting is that when the story of the ladies being over there was first reported, Lana was mentioned as being there too. I can’t imagine her inclusion being well received (though I’m sure her outfit would be a sight to see).

Didn't they fly Nattie and Alexa for the last Saudi show in hopes to get them booked on the show? It says a lot about how WWE views Nattie that they really want her to be part of the first women's match there. I'd have to assume they're using Nattie's name as a way to convince them it's sort of a big star. "Hey we can't give you Bret Hart but this woman is related!".

Nah. Screw this. Can't give them any credit. This is a dude who slices up journalists who don't agree with him, but now he wants a pat on the back because he's allowing women to wrestle? That's if they don't pull the rug from them again.

I can imagine the Saudi crowd getting excited to see women's wrestling for the first time and then realizing very quickly what we here in the US have realized long ago
Natalya matches are boring as sin
This couldn't have been an easy thing to pull off. Good for the girls but Saudi's so underhanded and shady it's really hard to be supportive in any capacity as some others have said here.

Did they magically make them a democracy, and change every human rights violation? No. Did they do something positive that should be celebrated? Yes.

Let's not forget wwe is a billion dollar publicly traded company.
They had no obligation to even try to push for the women, and probably could have gotten by , by just not announcing the location like they have been doing.

This is fantastic news. WWE should be very proud (hopefully they don't brag too much, but you know they will). Very happy for the young Saudi girls who will see this and be inspired.
The Triple H quote from around the time of the first Saudi show is worth remembering.

Like...it’s really hard for me to give them any kind of praise for it. It just is. There’s just so much shit related to Saudi Arabia to go through (even stuff that happened this year) that it’s even hard for me to go “Wow, they allowed women to wrestle” when, as pointed out, there are still women jailed from protests that even helped the “movement” go as far as it has (albeit, not far at all) for me to be like “Yeah, this feels like genuine change!”
Trying not to get into much because of rules but...I just can’t help but feel this is gross regardless

Wow, WWE is really standing up for women's rights by *checks paper* pushing their own business interests and getting an incredibly repressive, patriarchal regime to make an exception for two foreign women that will not make anything better for the Saudi women who have to live day by day under a society that refuses them autonomy. Yay WWE.

Yay WWE. i'm confused about what you'd want to happen here. you'd rather...they didn't have women wrestling on the show? I don't think anyone's suggesting wwe has "fixed" all the problems in the world, but they've taken a small, first step to normalising something that those of us in the western world take for granted. Sure, it's a tiny tiny step in the right direction, but it's the right direction. wwe should be celebrating this. wwe should be telling everyone about this. that's how big changes eventual happen, with millions of small changes.
