Damnit, why does this show make me feel feelings and stuff /cry
Seriously though, the last two episodes have been the best this show has been imo. Episode 8 especially.

I was thinking the episode was a little fillery but really good. The Whole Darkseid thing just felt like a meaningless way to make Hayley's and Psycho's plot move quickly. But the emotions are still real

She's not a hero but she realizes she isn't a monster like Psycho

Michael Ironside was Darkseid again. In a shitty year, that much is right with the world.

Saw pics of the finale {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Ugh. Nice guys finish last. Was hoping the writers would take a creative risk instead of peaking too early, but to be fair, I don't think they have a third season yet commissioned. Still, enjoy your boring traditional endgame people. It sure doesn't look good on either character with the way they brought them together. To me, it trampled all over a vastly superior pairing.
I also hope DC pull a Beast Boy/Raven and make Kite and Ivy a canon pairing in the comics since they (mercifully) sunk Ivy/Harley over there

I need to watch this damn show. Not a big modern animation fan, but from the clips I’ve seen, I’d dig it.

I stumbled upon this show pretty much by accident and have nearly got through Season One. Pretty great show, so far, I'd say.
Just so happened to see this thread for the first time today. Wow, you guys really did not have high hopes for this one huh lol.

Ok, now that I've seen the episode, I feel a little better and not as pissed, but I still feel the superior 'ship was sunk {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}To Kite's credit, he does finally snap when it's IVY who wants to continue the wedding, and he knows it's bulls*it as he saw at their vows that her heart and mind were elsewhere. Guy's simplicity is more in pleasure, as he is wise to pain, and he let her go
That was good.
Also, liked that Harley had some faith that Kite could potentially come around, showing she was willing to let Ivy go if that was meant to be

Man this show legit has me invested in Kite Man as a character now
Also with the whole Dr Pyscho and Darkseid thing. I legit thought it was going to end with Pyscho calling Harley, you know ‘that word’ as a callback to season 1 and even Darkseid would be like “That’s too much even for me ha”

So I'm bumping this because now I've watched the first two seasons of Harley Quinn and I'll summerize my thoughts;
The first season...I could give and take. Did kind of feel like a bunch of WB animators were fed up of doing safe Direct to DVD and Scooby Doo stuff and went ahead and wanted to draw some real violence which hey, good for them, but it kind of took away from some of the charm the show had, really. I'm not saying that as a prude, just didn't feel like some of it was that needed.
Season two, however? It felt like they learned a lot really quickly. Saved some of the more disturbing stuff for when it was earned, focused more on character building and had some real strong moments that made me hope a Season three gets commissioned sooner rather than later.
Also, I don't think there's a more inspired casting for Poison Ivy than Lake Bell. Like, whoever casted her deserves a raise.

It hit HBO Max so I’ve been binging through it(Halfway through season 2)...Man, I really dig this show. I said it earlier, I really don’t care for modern animated shows, but this show really does it for me. Better get a season 3.

I’ve also been working my way through it because of it hitting HBO Max, and I’m also really loving it. Looking back at the trailers they went with now that I am watching the show, I feel the marketing team royally screwed them over. They focused too much on the cursing instead of the actual legitimately funny comedy in this. Going off those trailers I thought this show would be dumb but, nah, there are some pretty good layers to the writing here. Kite Man is by far the biggest surprise for me. The show’s version of Poison Ivy is one of my favorite takes on her character and she is probably my current favorite in the show. The show’s treatment of Bane has me in stitches. His scenes aren’t long, but I love how he is committed to the whole “blowing things up” bit, and them taking the piss out of the Tom Hardy voice is glorious. Oh man and Alan Tudyk’s go as Joker is phenomenal! Obviously Mark Hamill will always be #1 for me, but Tudyk is a strong, STRONG second place for me. Especially for {Spoiler}”Where’s my got-damned electric car, Bruce?!“

Watched both seasons a few weeks ago and LOVED it. The missus and I still quite Bane lines to each other.
Theres so much great stuff in here. The Harley-Ivy relationship is awesome. Bane as I mentioned. How everything feels natural. The willingness to kill off major characters and it feel earnt. So good.
I specifically wanted to mention the Mr Freeze episode though. It really feels like they reached back to give the BTAS Freeze a proper send off. The character has been butchered in the comics, so having his arc completed properly was so satisfying.

This show is genuinely balls to the wall funny, while still hitting emotional beats here and there (especially in the second season). I cannot recommend it enough,

As long as season 3 gives us more Bane I'll be happy to keep watching.
