Mauro is my favorite commentator in wrestling today. Dude shows enthusiasm and puts over the product like no one else. Do I shake my head at some of his references? Yes, absolutely. But, I'll take every "what the f*** did you say Mauro?" over monotone Cole, grump JR (whom I still like but he's getting on my last nerve), or whatever the hell Corey does. Cole and Corey actively take away from the shows and I can't bother with the main shows anymore because of them.
Plus, as a dude suffering from depression and anxiety, Mauro will have my undying gratitude for being open and clear with his own battle. It takes a lot of guts to fess up to that kind of stuff, especially in the wrestling world.
The "holy bleep" I laughed at btw. Sounds like something I'd say when I was cashiering. Like, everyone know what you WANT to say but can't because reasons.

I think Mauro sucks, but likes others have already said, coming from Corey that's rich. This still has nothing on his bizarre tweets about poor people, food stamps, and trying to kill himself one time.
If most of Corey's Twitter shtick is just him heeling it up, I hve to ask: what's the point? Dude's a commentator who can't even take a bump as comeuppance. He shouldn't be trying to get himself over.

It’s a split probably. I know people that love Mauro and if you have been listening to him since MMA/Boxing you love him because he adds legitimacy to the product Im guessing the other side is people just don’t like him. People love him and hate him for the same reason, his enthusiasm. I don’t mind it, of course there is times where I’m like shut up Mauro because he forced a reference in but generally I rather have a guy very into his job instead of someone who just is there for a check Yeah, I think Mauro's kinda the definition of a "love him or hate him" commentator because of how distinct he is. It's nice to hear that he still has a lot of fans though, because even as someone that is very not in to his more recent commentary (which is a shame because I love him to death when he's doing MMA commentary), I love the guy as a person. Oh yeah for me I can never really hate Mauro because i've listened to the dude for years as an MMA commentator and that enthusiasm is genuinely him Just more so hope people watch their words with how they describe people they don't like. F***ing garbage or f***ing asshole is way over the line for someone you don't know and they did nothing to offend you

I'll take Mauro yelling excitement and positivity over anything on RAW or SmackDown. Is he a bit much sometimes? I guess, but it's so pure. I hate the cynical commentary on the other shows.
Also, unrelated, but Mauro is super nice on social media while Corey is a twat. So there's that.

I dunno... Rob Bartlett makes the first episodes of Raw nearly unwatchable.

While I'm a fan of Corey, nah. That was a dick move. That's a peer and someone with mental health issues who's struggling daily. He needs to not only apologize but also learn about how you're supposed to communicate with those who have mental health issues let alone a coworker. Mauro deserves better and Corey needs to work on being a great example of today's commentary team. This isn't that example.

I can't stand Mauro as a commentator, to the extent he actively makes me less inclined to check out shows, but with the amount of abuse anyone gets online for basically nothing I can't even image what kind of person would invite that abuse into one of their co-workers. Add the fact the guy seems like a nice bloke who's been open about suffering from depression and it makes the whole thing a genuinly horrible thing to do!

I do feel like Mauro tries alittle too hard and kinda talks over everyone constantly but Graves is shit from a butt.

I’d rather have Tom Phillips doing NXT lead announce duties and Mauro get pushed to NXT UK. At least Phillips doesn’t get over excited about every little thing.

I love Mauro on commentary. His enthusiasm is pretty good and it keeps me invested in the match. Maybe Im used to him because I watched him on SHOWTIME boxing and PRIDE but he does go overboard on pop culture.

I don't find Mauro annoying in the slightest. Corey Graves however... Part of why Shane’s heel run sucked was because of Corey losing his shit on commentary and being super annoying.

... when did we turn on Mauro? I did years ago. His references every match are the epitome of terrible. That said he has great enthusiasm and I like him a hell of a lot better than Graves.

I..I don’t get it. I f***ing love Mauro on commentary. I couldn’t stand him in MMA..... but ever since he came to WWE, I’ve really enjoyed him. I think, lately, he’s gone a bit overboard with some of his shtick, but I still think he’s the best PBP guy of the three shows.

I hope if/when Cm punk comes back they do a wwe 24 on the network about it And it shows Corey going up to punk just saying “who the f*** are you”

Since this has become a thread about Mauro's work: I really wouldn't have any significant criticisms of him if he cut it out with the CONSTANT references. Every now and then would be fine, but he just bombards you with them. Take those away? He might be my favorite since peak JR. He's got a great voice for commentary, infectious enthusiasm, solid knowledge of the craft, and "mama mia" is a terrific catchphrase.

I like them both, TBH. I think Mauro is the best commentator WWE has (despite obvious issues) and I think Corey is aptly effective in his role (despite obvious issues). So..it’s really just a dick move for Corey to have said that. Or whatever he’s implying. Especially considering the context of everything.
