To go outside of WWE
Minoru Suzuki and Naito matches aren't really all that interesting. Add on the Suzuki and Okada matches too

Their 2017 g1 draw is fantastic. And their title match at Royal Quest was one of my matches of the year (though being there live definitely biases me).

I didn't say they weren't good I just said they weren't interesting The New Beginning in Sapporo was a good match objectively but it was also plodding that took you somewhat out of it The Royal Quest was the match in the rain right? That I did enjoy plus it was a cool visual

Mr Perfect and Shawn Michaels. Maybe they just had an off night but their Summerslam 93 match promised to be an all time classic.
Instead, it was just a colossal let down.

AJ and Nakamura. I remember people hyping this match up like it would be the best match ever.
EVERY single match they had disappointed the shit out of me. And I like both guys.

Following their CZW match in 2005 or 2006, Kevin (Owens) Steen and Franky The Mobster constantly told Quebec/Ontario/Northeast promoters to make them tag whenever a promoter wanted to pit them against one another.

Their match for suzuki's anniversary was also dope I do agree on suzuki and naito not meshing well. I also think jay white and ishii had bad chemistry 2016 aj vs nakamura was great. 2018 it was okay. But i blame wwe for booking those finishes

Have you not watched their NJPW encounter? I chop up their WWE stuff to micromanagement and obviously Shinsuke losing a step

Christian and Edge could never find the right groove against one another which was a bit shocking

Tho in fairness I think it would been better if we had the 2007-2012 Undertaker wrestling those two in his prime like the others got to I don’t think that was the problem. Even in his prime, Taker was a brawler first and foremost, same as Austin and to a lesser extent Rock. Too much ying not enough yang like a poster once said regarding guys who were too similar in the ring. Another example of guys who were too alike and whose matches always sucked? Edge against Christian. Rock and Taker I kind of give it a pass a little because they never really worked together one on one where both where in there best. Rock vs. Taker KOTR 99. Taker wasn't in the best condition and Rock was selling the broken arm. The only other one was a match in early 02. Another two who never had a great match, Matt vs Jeff Hardy. There matches always become disappointing to who you would expect.

Yea, they didn't have their first good match together until Broken Matt Hardy stuff and even then that you can say wasn't technically a match in the classic sense

Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose ---- I was very disappointed by their match at WM 32 That goes all on Lesnar. Motherf***er was planning his UFC return, and shot down every idea Ambrose had. Dean would have happily taken all of those weapons to have the match of the night, but Brock couldn't be bothered to put in any effort on WWE's biggest show. And yeah, Rock/Angle/Undertaker ruled, but I think it is moreso because Kurt is there so Rock and Taker didn't have to spend too much time with each other.

As many times as they've wrestled each other over the years you'd think there'd be something memorable about some Kofi / Ziggler match beyond the finish of that boring ass cage match.

Orton vs Sheamus. During a time when Orton was having the best matches of his career, he couldn't make anything interesting going against Sheamus.

I actually loved that match, just for the sheer reason of getting to see Ishii kick his ass and they played that up very well. I actually like the first Naito/Suzuki match, just for the story they were going for and the ending with Naito slapping the shit out of him. Although I know a lot of people didn't like it. Their other matches were uninspired. Now time for my unpopular opinion time, Bret and Shawn. Love both guys, both clearly great workers, but their matches together were very disappointing to me. The Iron Man match bored the hell out of me, the first ladder match was very standard, it just seemed like they played it very safe and going through the motions in their matches. Honestly their best match was the Survivor Series match, because it actually had some energy and excitement, I wonder where that match was supposed to go.

Their 2017 g1 draw is fantastic. And their title match at Royal Quest was one of my matches of the year (though being there live definitely biases me). And their New Beginning match earlier that year was a master class in babyface selling on Okada’s part. As for Cena and Orton, I could watch their Iron Man match multiple times and still be engaged by it. I can’t say the same for Bret and Shawn’s WM12 match, which isn’t horrible or anything but very, very little happened in the first third or so of that fight and that drags it down a ton because fans are obviously bored. Really, I think their infamous 1997 Survivor Series match is my favorite from them, because they’re just out there trying to kill each other before the screw job occurs.
