Isn’t his neck still f***ed, though?

I remember that thread about him and “WWE Business” in the not-to-distant past.... and then radio silence. I figured it was some ado about nothing.
Idk what kind of return run I would want from him, but if/when his music hits during the Royal Rumble, I’m gonna lose my shit.

Bret Hart should guest host Raw.

Isn’t his neck still f***ed, though? Recent reports suggested his neck had recovered incredibly well and he was completely cleared for in ring bumps and action again.

Isn’t his neck still f***ed, though? After the whole DBry concussion situation, if there’e one thing I trust about WWE is that they won’t throw guys out there who’s past injuries have even an average chance of causing something really bad happening on their watch. I’m going to trust there’s been enough testing and doctors and experts giving Edge the green light to continue his career. And Edge seems to have his head on completely straight. There’s no way he didn’t get anything but the top medical opinions if this is going to happen.

I have this feeling, this is going to be the Shawn Michaels 2.0 run from a past returning superstar. 2020-2028. A good 8 year, part time run, part 2. This will make Edge a bigger superstar than ever. So we can compare the two runs like we do with Shawn. 1998-2011 2020-2028 Let's do this!

So... if this actually happens how long before Edge goes from those returning hero pops to the universally despised slimebag?

I'm all for nostalgia when it's guys who still have tons to offer. Edge is near the top of that list. I just beg he gets to be a heel.

I'm sort of surprised he talked to AEW, too. Wonder if it was earnest, or if he was making sure WWE knew not to lowball him.
If he can safely wrestle, I am glad to see him do it, though it's going to be weird if he still has short hair for it.

I'm truly excited about a potential Edge return. He has a great look, and carries himself like a star. His in-ring work was pretty good and a new lease on life should carry him to greatness. Lets see him pin Brock Lesnaar quickly after avoiding Suplex City and deftly countering the F-5.

I'm guessing Edge might be the beneficiary of the increased use of stem cells, much like Rey Mysterio turning back the hands of time on his knees in the last few years. That, and not being chewed up by the grind of the WWE schedule for most of the last of the last decade.

I think he knows a few people in AEW very well, at the very least probably went to them out of respect to hear what they could bring or if they'd even be interested in using him as a talent. In the end I don't see how he could wrestle anywhere else but WWE unlike how Christian did it.

Edge is one of those guys that I enjoyed for a while but is not someone that I ever need to see again. Just enjoy your retirement and family. The WWE is already clogged way the hell up and a guy like him returning is just going to make that worse. I personally just don’t see what he has to offer at this point. I guess, it would be fine if it’s a short run for WM season and to go out on his own terms but anything more than that, no thank you. 🤷🏻♂️
Also I’m not sure how one goes from “one bad bump might kill you” to “I’m back and jumping around, doing stuff.”

They would be tearing it up in the ring like it's 2002-2003 again. Put them on Smackdown with the following 6: Rey Edge CM Punk Daniel Bryan AJ Styles Adam Cole

I don't think Edge would have really entertained an AEW run, nor do I think WWE would lowball him, but in 2019, if you are signing a major contract, you talk to both companies. It's simply what you to do to get the most amount of zeros on your checks.

I remember that thread about him and “WWE Business” in the not-to-distant past.... and then radio silence. I figured it was some ado about nothing. Yeah I made that thread not that long ago and like you said, it was radio silence. Edge said it wasn't true even though you had insiders and reporters saying they heard something. And now we get this... I gotta say I think we'll see him at the Rumble. Honestly, an Edge/Reigns feud might be pretty dope. Reigns is one guy he said he'd love to work with and he'd love to be a heel for it. If not Reigns then what about Andrade or Ali or even hey, Kofi/Edge. There's so much to do with him. At the same time I gotta wait for the reports to come out about how healthy he is because if he's as healthy as Bryan AND he has Bryan's "super check up" before and after every match I'd be down.

Edge vs. CM Punk feud please.
There's a big match at Wrestlemania for both guys equally.
Rated R vs. Straight Edge.
