![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a4/Mutant1984.jpg) 56. Mutant/Night Shadows (Amazon Prime) A surprisingly enjoyable infected small town movie. It started kinda dumb but once it got going I really enjoyed it, especially for it uncomprimising death of a small child scene, the fact that some of the extras from earlier in the movie were shown as infected later on in the movie and it's pretty terrifying finale. Plus Jody Medford got more attractive as the movie wore on, so it was worth watching all the way to the end. The make-up and prothstetics looked really good in parts but the extras playing the infected were so bad that it came across as cheesy and the effect on the infecteds voices was cool but too cool for how dumb they looked. I still recommend it.

28. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)Man, I've been trying to watch this all week, but I could never seem to get more than five minutes in without getting distracted. So I know I said in my review of the first movie that I thought this was the best of the three movies, but after watching them for the first time in like twenty years I'm thinking I might need to revise that opinion. Don't get me wrong, this movie is far from bad, and I'd still call it funnier then the first movie, but I think the first movie definitely told a better story and just felt like a better movie over-all.

*DVD
An emotional tale driven by the great performances of the cast. The back half loses a bit of momentum even if it nails the emotion, while the first half is pretty fantastic storytelling. [***½]

51. Osmosis Jones - Watched this on DVD. In this time of panic, I had told myself to watch this. Plus, it had been a long time since the last time I saw it (I am certain it was early-2000s, and I remember seeing it on HBO multiple times around that time). While I enjoyed it, I feel that the animated scenes were actually better than the live-action scenes.
I had heard that this was originally supposed to be PG-13, but was edited to be marketed as a family film, though some of the gross-out humor and some other scenes turn out to be not-so-family-friendly. I liked Laurence Fishburne's performance as the main villain and I also liked the performances of Chris Rock and David Hyde Pierce. Some bits don't hold up too well, but I feel that the animated themes makeup for a lot of things.

Virus (Amazon Prime) It felt appropriate to watch this today. But much like the news this week I wish I hadn’t. It was okay but a lot of it was laid-on really too thick in parts. Like the President. He went from being good in the role to just too much. It felt like a TV miniseries too. The quality of the video being on par with something taped off of a TV in 1980 did a lot to help that illusion. There was even a disclaimer before the movie started apologizing for the poor quality and missing film (the original film was two hours and thirty-five minutes but the version on Amazon Prime is only an hour and forty-five minutes). I did like when they traveled back to the mainland world and saw all the death. But when they were in Antarctica I was like “I can think of a few other ‘isolation in Antarctica’ movies I’d rather be watching” ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/58/Aladdinposter.jpg) 58. Aladdin (1992) (Disney+) A lot of this I didn’t remember. I probably haven’t seen it since...1993. But it is good. Once Robin Williams enters the picture it’s great. He was really great. Listening to his voice made me sad.

52. The First Power (1990) - Watched this on YouTube. So I found out about this movie through a YouTuber that I follow when he ranted on 1998's Fallen (Which I remember enjoying a while back). I was curious about this movie, so I found this on YouTube and watched it. For what it is, it's an entertaining action-horror film. Not to get anything about a certain theme about this film, but it really brought in a supernatural element. Hell, some have said that Fallen was similar in the whole spirit possessing someone. But this was more action-oriented than Fallen, which had more detective elements. Plus, some of the dialogue was a bit bad. But I still enjoyed the film. Lou Diamond Phillips did a good job in his role. Some of the others did well in their roles, especially Jeff Kober as the villain. He was pretty scary.
53. The Force (1994) - Watched this on YouTube. So I decided to watch this as well, as many other films appeared on the suggestions list. I will also note that this was ripped from a Laser Disc. Anyway, this was more or less just a time-waster. The plot had some elements of Ghost in it, except it had more to do with a rookie cop channeling the spirit of a fallen detective who wanted to solve his case. Some of the acting could have been a lot better. I usually don't rate movies, but if I were to, I would give it 2.5 out 5.

My first Bond viewing is a success. Craig is awesome, as are Green and Mikkelsen. The movie starts hot, has a phenomenal card game scene, features more emotion than expected, and has tremendous action. I just wish the final act is better as it lost my interest by then. [****]

28. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) 29. Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019)So some of you might remember a weird little 2012 Political Satire Sci-Fi Comedy called Iron Sky. It had a very limited release and was mainly advertised virally. It was about a group of Nazi's who had been living on the Moon since World War II returning to Earth attempting to conquer it. It was mostly fun if pretty amateur hour. This is the sequel to that movie, funded completely by an Indiegogo campaign. It picks up about thirty years after the end of the first movie, which saw Earth destroyed in nuclear war. The survivors of that war, made up of a mix of old Moon Nazi's and refugees from Earth, are living in the old Moon Nazi base that's rapidly falling apart. The one hope the people have of surviving is to power their space ship with the Holy Grail which they have to steal from the city of Agartha inside the Hollow Earth. Meanwhile the shape-changing Reptilian Alien Vrill, who live in Agartha, are pissed off that the Earth's surface that they wanted to conquer has been destroyed by the human's war. There's other stuff to this plot that I can't really get into because of board restrictions on politics and religion, but that's the basics. That description makes this movie sound soooo much more interesting then it actually is. The first movie was definitely a comedy. This movie seems to have forgotten that. It takes itself way too seriously and seems to think it's a lot smarter than it actually is. What little humor it has comes from "refuge in audacity" attempts that just fail miserably. On top of that it's just sloppy at times, with poor editing, bad special effects, and writing that's not witty in the slightest. And Julia Dietze is just a horrible actress. I don't remember her being this bad in the first movie, but she is just bad on so many levels in this. The best way I can describe this movie is to take Doug Walker, transplant into him Michael Moore's political beliefs, and give him $15 million to make a movie. As you can imagine, no good could come from something like that. 30. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)Came across this on Netflix streaming and all I could think was "wow, here's a movie I completely forgot about". I remember this being really big and really popular in the early 90's, but it's almost never mentioned nowadays. It's funny how a movie can be a hit like that and still leave no real lasting memory in collective pop culture. Anyways, it's not a perfect movie, but to me it's still the definitive Robin Hood. Alan Rickman's performance as the deranged Sheriff of Nottingham is easily the highlight of it. Recommended.

27: Friday the 13th Part VII: New Blood (1988) **
I skipped Jason Lives, and I regret it now, I'll probably watch 6 in 8 months, Part VII could have been much better but the slaughter done by the MPAA is the least of the film's problems

28. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) 29. Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019)30. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) 31. Frozen II (2019)So with this showing up early on Disney+, I figured I should watch it before it gets pulled (which I give a 50/50 shot of happening by the summer). This was ok. My biggest complaint about it was the songs. Not that they were bad, some were quite good (I especially enjoyed that 80's style Rock Ballad that Kristoff sung). But they felt so intrusive. Like instead of telling the story they were getting in the way of it. Of course if you got rid of them then the movie would only be like 40 minutes long, including the credits. In the end if you have a little girl I'm sure they'll love this.
