I don't mean like magic or super hero stuff. I mean little things like in all those shows focusing on kids in schools, like Disney, Nick, or TNBC. They show kids talking for long time in the halls between classes, even some leaving and getting back in time for their next class. Hell when I was in school they barely gave you enough time just to move through the halls JUST to get to your next class. Hell trying to visit your locker involved rushing even faster.

If there is a concert... a roadie or m.c will introduce the band to the stage “please welcome. The Doomers!’
Of all the concerts I have been too, I have been seen the headliner being introduced on stage. The band just comes out and starts playing.
Because everyone in the audience knows who they are already.

I've seen so many unrealistic school-related things happen on TV shows, it makes me wonder if most television writers ever actually went to school - the bell ringing in the middle of a teacher's lecture, students getting detention for low grades, teachers leaving students alone in the classroom during an exam, teachers cutting class short due to an emergency and letting the kids leave, parents holding their kids accountable for their poor grades instead of blaming it all on the teacher...

The Drew Carey Show - a Show about a man who lives in a large two story, has fairly decent job, has friends, relationships, even his own beer brewing business.... is portrayed as a no hope loser.

anytime someone tries to type on a computer... or use a mouse... it's always massively flailing around instead of the subtle if quick key strokes.
Ditto with driving people are constantly moving their hands on the wheel... almost like an old ship captain that has to compensate for waves...
also no one says "hello" or "goodbye" on phone calls... they just answer the phone and start talking until they are done and hangup wordlessly...

When two characters are having a private conversation with each other like right next to another person and we're supposed to believe this other person can't hear what they're saying.

Also on the Friends theme, and That 70's Show, I never had a close set of friends that dated each other after breaking up with one. I mean yea I can see Exes staying friends but Jackie on 70's show dated what 3 or 4 of the main cast?

On one side, I definitely think this is an overused theme in plenty of sitcoms and basically furthers the myth that (straight) men and women can never be "just" friends... But my last 3 exes were from the same friend group that's been together since high school ten years earlier, one of those being with my now former close friend's brother. Said friend unfriended me over this, which bothered my best friend (who I've also previously dated) and inspired him to cut off his friendship with her when she started dating the first guy I dated from that friend group (and when I dated him that time, it was technically the second time, as I had also dated him back in high school) So, while it wasn't a small group of six, we were all part of the same friend group and spent plenty of time all hanging out together, and other than my one former friend, nobody really thought much of it. On the other hand, other than my best friend, that social group was toxic as HELL, and my life has been so much better since disassociating with them. |

Any cop show, detective walks into a bar and shows the bartender a photo of someone (usually a missing girl).
Detective: "Have you seen this girl?"
Bartender: *barely looks at picture for 2 seconds* "Nah, I ain't seen her in here"
Detective: *visibly pissed off growls* "look harder!"
Bartender: *a bit worried now pays the picture a bit more attention* "Oh, that's Julie, she lives on ***street, favorite food is tacos, birthday July 9th, has a birthmark on her left hand, her mothers name is....ect ect ect".
If you've done bartending before you know unless its a sleepy small town pub you aren't going to remember faces, in a nightclub no chance. Also you will have instructions from your bosses that if the cops ever say "jump" you say "how high" every single bar in the world from the dive bar in the backstreets to the swanky VIP only club downtown is breaking some sort of regulation or law (often not maliciously, there's so many regulations its easy to forget some) and the cops get "yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir" treatment the instant they set foot on the premises to make them go away asap.

Elaine couldn’t afford to pay off the super to live in Jerry’s apartment, Kramer fell ass backwards into money and sublets his apartment from Paul Reiser’s character in Mad About You, and George has to move back his parents when he was down to $700 from not working for a long time. |

Bachelor/bachelorette parties involving exotic dancers. Out of the dozen or so people I know who are married, a few of which involved me being invited to the bachelor party, one involved an exotic dancer. In fact it was usually just going out for a meal and a round of drinks, and then back to their place for even more drinks, video games, beer pong, and just general horsing around.

Actually it is pretty well regarded amongst lawyers for being accurate when it comes to legal procedures. "He has to, by law, you're entitled. It's called disclosure, you dickhead! He has to show you everything, otherwise it could be a mistrial. He has to give you a list of all his witnesses, you can talk to all his witnesses, he's not allowed any surprises." |
