This'll probably evolve into the general discussion for the movie, but for now the focus is on what the early look at the toys are promoting {Spoiler}Mechagodzilla

More clear in this shot, I thought it was a skeleton at first. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} I have no idea what is going on with the red thing on the one Godzilla. Does it start with Kong vs Godzilla, but Godzilla's skin is ripped off to reveal that it is a machine?

Actually, that looks a bit like {Spoiler}Anguirus to me. They put him on two legs, but his "arms" looks like feet. The tail and the head look like him.

Apparently there is a leaker on Toho Kingdom who called this months ago, down to the shape of the hands, and Kong's axe.

It’s the first thing that’s made me kinda excited for the movie.

I think the most interesting aspect of this movie is picturing studio executives freaking out about the fact it was already in production to come out just over a year (and originally not even that long) after King of the Monsters flopped.
Not that that really reflects on its actual quality - it could really go either way from where I'm sitting - but it's kind of one of those cases where this could very well end up being a spectacular case of Hollywood hubris.

Can’t say I really blame them for running full speed with these two movies, Godzilla and Kong Skull Island were both critically well received and performed very strong at the box office. King of the Monsters underperforming was a bit of an anomaly and far from a guarantee that Godzilla vs Kong underperforms as well. Plus, moving it from May until November was probably a pretty good idea. Gives it more breathing room from other major releases, whereas KotM was in the middle of a murderers row of movies and something was guaranteed to underwhelm in there.

Honest to God, I didn't even know King Of The Monsters had come out yet until I read this thread. Gonna have to check it out.

Honest to God, I didn't even know King Of The Monsters had come out yet until I read this thread. Gonna have to check it out. I enjoyed the first one, almost at times in spite of how much others didn't enjoy it. I quite enjoyed the second one, more than I thought weirdly enough, and that time it seemed to be in sync with how much other people enjoyed it. In between I saw Kong, and it was fine...... but man a rewatch, perhaps now knowing that this Legendary Pictures Tohoverse was truly going to be a thing, was infinitely more enjoyable. I'm very optimistic with this upcoming film.

For some reason, I was hoping they would add the Godzilla slide in the movie.

Not that it really matters but that's a very eye-bleeding poster. The red and blue don't mix well, it kind of just feels like they just scattered PNGs around it at complete random rather than having a real design in mind, and it's actually kind of hard to make out that that first word's supposed to be "one".

Rumour is there may be a trailer today. I have noticed a creature near the top of that tower thing I can’t identify. Look near the O of One Will Fall.
