In the original 3 MK games I was hopeless trying to do a fatality. Hell I am still hopeless doing them.
Honestly my only hope was the cpu to do it against me. Though a reward for winning a multiplayer tourney in UMK3 on the SNES was a montage of fatalities which was fun to watch.

MK 1 the only two that I think I was able to pull off consistently were Liu Kang's and Scorpion's...

I never used them. I liked to win by giving the opponent a single weak punch, as a final insult.

I did Stryker’s taser one once in 3, but that was it.

I don't think I've ever actually done a fatality pre-Deadly Alliance. They were always too finicky and the payoff didn't make it worth practicing.
Then again, the Deadly Alliance fatalities weren't worth it either, but hey.

Mileena in MK2 had a super easy one. Just hold y for like, 5 seconds.

Getting the right distance from my opponent to do them was always a pain in the ass for me.

Its weird, Its more fun just to watch them than actually spend the time to do them.

Doing fatalities nowadays is nothing, but pulling them off in the arcade back in the summer of '93? You were a legend. Forever ingrained in my mind is 'Forward, Down, Forward, Low Punch'. It's what made the game stand out from Street Fighter II.

I've always wondered how you even found out the combinations in the early days. I know 4 had the inputs in the practice mode, but even Deadly Alliance and Deception didn't have them, to my knowledge.

Hell, I think I can still recall 90% of the MK1-2 ones.
MK3 fatalities were so lazy I never even bothered. Arms floating in midair? Come on.

Back when MK1 had been out for 4 or so months a buddy brought to school a Move list. His dad or uncle had gotten it off the internet. I am assuming he got it off one of the video game parts of Usenet.

The very first one I ever learned was scorpions in MK 1
Most know it using the blk button but even easier all you have to do is stand sweeping distance and just hit up up
trying to perform brutalities though ...f*** that noise
And I hated MK3 fatalities when they started including the run button into them becaus I never bothered with the run button much so having to remember it as part of certain fatalities just made it worse for me.

I've done Shang Tsung's Kintaro Morph fatality in MKII a few times, but having to hold Low Punch for 30 seconds while fighting in the second or third round was rather annoying.
