A lot of the last act of the movie kind of felt like {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Sony telling Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx, "You deserved better than what we gave you."
Like, goddamn. What a redemption. As for the other bit... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Aunt May dying was unfortunate, but it didn't bother me that much because I felt it reinforced what her general push had been, and also, I just do not really know what you'd do with her if she had come back. I really enjoyed myself. Anyone who is hemming and hawing about it due to being sick of Peter being in Tony Stark Jr. territory in past movies, that's long gone now. Thank God for that. {Spoiler}Garfield Spidey catching MJ as a way to redeem his failing to catch Gwen in TASM 2 was such a big crowd pop moment

I get what you are saying, but a character doesn't have to be killed off. They can just not be featured as much or at all for a couple movies until you have something for them to do.

This movie was the first I saw of {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Andrew Garfield's Spidey, and I liked him! Not more than Tom Holland, but enough to think, just based on what people have said about the movies, that he deserved better. I'm glad he got to be a part of this one. All of the {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Tobey Maguire Spidey things hit me more than I thought they would. And apparently, I really wanted {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}a Doc Ock face turn and never knew it. Personally, I think MCU Spider-Man is the strongest trilogy of movies of all the heroes. I'd listen to an argument for Cap, but I still think it's probably Spidey. Guardians of the Galaxy could be up there too, if Vol. 3 is as strong as Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are.

I like the diversity of Spider-Man's casting (I mean diversity in terms of appearance, size, screen presence not race of course although that is likely to change in the near future) it means there isn't really a "best" Spider-Man more so like Bond and Dr Who they all have their good points and everyone has a favorite based on their personal tastes. Can't really say the same for the Batmans who all blend into one.

The whole reason he doesn't just hit the button earlier was to show mercy, and Norman had to pull the mean streak out of him. I guess the same could have happened with him just hurting May, sure, but I question if it'd be as effective, plus it leaves a loose end that it just doesn't seem like we'd likely ever get back to.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}People have been clamouring for Aunt May to die for years, especially since One More Day. The only reason May even survived that story was because of the deal with the devil, which is thankfully ignored here entirely

Hell the ending would be even more heartbreaking if she was just injured because it meant the person who raised Peter wouldn't know who he was either.

Called this forever ago. Just need Spider-Girl and maybe Miles to be in the RaimiVerse and we’re set.

Garfield's Spider Man saving MJ was maybe the most subtly moving moment in any MCU movie so far.
Just perfect filmmaking.

Sounds like it'll make 2B tops when you factor in Japan

Finally saw this tonight and I enjoyed it. I think they did a great job of making all the moving parts work. This could easily have become a convoluted mess like Spider-man 3 did. However, they managed to walk that fine line and prevent that. Each character served a purpose and added to the story. I'm not super thrilled with the ending. I get why they did it but I personally didn't like it. Overall it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the movie though.
