Remember when Bravo used to air foreign movies/really good movies and Inside The Actor's Studio?
What about when IFC used to show AMAZING independent and foreign films?
I miss those days.

USA used to show a lot of movies in the day and late night. It aired the Child's Play movies almost every month. Though they have original programming, they had edgy original shows like Pacific Blue, La Femme Nikita, The Net (a short-lived show based on the movie with Sandra Bullock), and Silk Stalkings (Though that could be argued about it being an original USA show as it was on CBS at first). They even showed reruns of Baywatch and Walker, Texas Ranger often.
While they have dialed down on the SVU reruns, I think that NCIS has kind of been on the same level of their overabundance of showing reruns every day. Before, it was an SVU marathon every single day.

AMC used to be A BUNCH OF OLD BORING MOVIES At least to me as a kid. It was where I went to watch classic horror like FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA, and the Godzilla series. Thank Christ that now every October we get...that one with the killer pinata.

Here's another one: Both Nick at Nite (which is considered a separate channel from Nickelodeon) and TV Land used to have more than 4 shows on their respective schedules.

American Gladiators, Scrabble, and other 90s goodness. I also loved their cheesey original movies, Up All Night (I met Rhonda Shear). And I loved the gameshow SMUSH back in 2001.

Lifetime? Is that was it used to be? Is it still the “network for women”?
Speaking of Which, the Oxygen network was also a “woman’s network” before morphing in the “Snapped” marathon murder channel. I think it’s literally rebranded to a true crime channel

The WB/CW - Launched in 1995 (just 25 years ago this month). Shows consisted primarily of shows targeted at the African-American demo until the success of Buffy and Dawson's Creek influenced the network to broaden its focus towards teens and young adults. As the CW, the network consist mostly of Dc superhero shows and sci fi/mystery dramas.
TNT - started off as a classic movie channel which paved the way for another Turner owned network with Turner Classic Movies (TCM), reruns of cancelled primetime shows and Hanna Barbera cartoons. Now it's mostly original programming and endless reruns of Charmed, Supernatural, and Bones.

Literally fell in love with Wings because of skipping school and casually watching it while playing video games. And between 2011-2013, despite never getting into any of those law and order shows, getting into SVU because they showed it so damn much.

Sundance-use to be for indie film. Now it is L&W reruns and Mash reruns.
TLC-use to be the learning channel now it is the freaks of nature channel.
But really it feels like every channel Universal owns is now the L&W order channel.

UPN was like another FOX. Just weird random shows. I hear UPN, I immediately think of Platypus Man. That show had limitless potential! lol

With UPN being mentioned, let me mention MyNetworkTV. It was once a network that aired American telenovelas, which meant that the shows aired nightly. It also had some reality show, which one was similar to America's Next Top Model. It even showcased the International Fight League and had a weekly program of that. Hell, it even had a sitcom with Flavor Flav.
The only bright spot was that it had Smackdown on it for a few years while MyNetworkTV struggled with their original programming. After that, it just became a channel that aired syndicated reruns of sitcoms.

MTV used to be a channel that showed music videos.
The idea of an MTV without music videos is bizarre to me. The ones we get (outside the US) still have them.

Still somewhat religious, believe it or not. They're contractually obligated to air The 700 Club, though it's not dictated when they have to air it in the broadcast day. Which is probably why they air it at like 3:00 in the morning between infomercials. Pretty much. I found an article on Wikipedia about Freeform's history after posting, the original stipulation of the time-buy worked into the contract had one airing in the morning, one in the evening, and one at late night, but the second's been consistently ignored by everyone who's owned the channel. ABC actually tried buying out the time-buy and ridding the network of it for good a while back. Their offer was turned down and CBN wanted more than it was worth. Makes me wonder how long the time-buy was made for, as it has to have been in place for at least 30 years at this point.
