Lifetime was a health-topics channel. And, they played less edited versions of Golden Girls. Still cut the intro (except when they had an EVEN LONGER version) and end credits were generic though. Which helped.

Just name a channel under the Discovery umbrella and most of the time it'll have shifted drastically from its original format. The Travel Channel now airs a crapton of haunting and monster shows, for example. Network Decay on TVTropes has some pretty fascinating examples. (let's see how much makes you laugh, cry, or both...) Freeform: Family friendly, borderline religious channel. Still somewhat religious, believe it or not. They're contractually obligated to air The 700 Club, though it's not dictated when they have to air it in the broadcast day.

Which is probably why they air it at like 3:00 in the morning between infomercials.

I tell you TLC was The Learning Channel. Now it stands for Toddlers, Little People, and Cake. Shout out to Natasha Leggero. 😊 VH1 played music videos and had awesome shows like Pop-Up Video and Behind the Music. The E! Channel had Talk Soup, Coming Attractions, Behind the Scenes stuff (I remember one show being about Anaconda), the Gossip Show, etc. Comedy Central had Win Ben Stein's Money, Dr. Katz, UBC, Make Me Laugh, late 80s & early 90s SNL, Insomniac, TV Funhouse, etc. But yeah, they're all garbage "reality" shows now.
