Sad to hear. I would have liked to see the whole DiBiase crew do more than they did in the business.

I have a feeling many people who made a career in pro wrestling during the 80s have a pretty full hidden closet.
It's really hard to think positively of many people. Ric Flair had cheated on his wives, purposely stayed on the road to avoid seeing his family. Great character, terrible family man. Nothing against the wrestler, love the wrestler. Thought Ted Sr. had changed his life after retiring in ring. Well, guess he did, just not to anything better.
Kind of makes you wish the internet didn't grow the way it did. Makes me miss only really knowing what going on locally

Ted misusing funds for the poor is disappointing, true to the MDM character, but disappointing for an actual minister.

Eventually karma was gonna catch up to him doing what he did to those who weren’t as financially successful as him.
I used to have a pastor like him who was that way with us when the entire congregation wouldn’t tithe to his liking....and this was a guy who owned a beach front home in Newport Beach. Eventually everything came back to haunt him and his church went under due to his love of money.
As a wrestler, I love the Million Dollar Man, but as a human....f*** Ted DiBiase for being a shady f***er.

I have a feeling many people who made a career in pro wrestling during the 80s have a pretty full hidden closet. It wasn't just the 80s. There were a lot of those prior to that decade and there are still a lot in the business today. Wrestling by nature is born out of being one giant con and sham. It was literally designed from the beginning to be a place for grifters and con-artists to ply their trade. It's always been a place for the outliers to find a home and it attracts them still to this day. The 80s boom coinciding with things like the predominance of cocaine as the drug of choice is certainly a high point of the problematics, no doubt, but it never went away.

Yea, back then it was a job but not really a career choice in terms of retirement to live on for the majority of the roster. For the top guys you can make some good money while the rest could earn a decent living and try to move on to something else Today, you will still find guys who don't "fit in" trying to make it there but it is not as bad as it was. You can make a career out of being a wrestler and it helps that some of this generation isn't as wild as the previous

At this point I wonder how many people have resigned themselves to thinking that there is a chance their favorite wrestler has a crime that they're hiding? Wouldn't surprise me me if it's a significant amount. Hacksaw Duggan is a card carrying communist confirmed. Duggan is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is *not* a porn star!

I'm trying to come up with 5 top stars from the 80's that never had any known major scandals or "demons", as they say.
So far, all I can come up with Bobby Eaton.

I don't remember ever hearing anything particularly infamous about Bockwinkel. Then again he might have been a radical nationalist bolshevik for all I know

Ted really owes Del Rio for making him only the second biggest scumbag in wrestling this week.

I don't want to tell you who has as many ex-wives as Ric Flair, but his name rhymes with Vicky Beamcoat.

[/quote] I don't know much about Bundy, Tito, or Nikolai, really. From what I can tell, Bundy GTFO'd with his health and was good with his money. The last Bruce Prichard podcast made it clear that Tito basically did the same. I imagine both were guys who treated the "business" like a job, and just wanted to do the work and go home. As for Duggan... well, if getting caught with weed is the worst thing he ever did, that puts him above probably 95% of the Rock n' Wrestling era roster. I'm not gonna lie, it's really disappointing out of Dibiase. He was legit one of the ones that I thought may have done some bad things, but outgrew it.
