As a fan of Ricochet, I see this and see that there's an actual capacity for someone booking him and seeing 'Main Event against Eric Young' as a viable option. Explain away all you want, but even AEW's B-show is more a way to have the live crowd see everyone wrestle and send them home happy instead of an obvious demotion. Hell, Kenny Omega and Pac have been on Dark, lending credence to this idea.
Ricochet is stuck. Stories of Paul Heyman wanting to build around him, Murphy and Black are extremely overblown. Even if this Heyman booking idea comes to fruition, it'll be pissed away the moment Vince needs to book a major PPV and trots out Goldberg or Undertaker again. He's been slotted as a JTTS and while not every guy is going to be a huge star, not every guy is a Ricochet. It's impressive how little WWE has made him matter in the space is a year. It's remarkable.

Here’s the thing for me... What am I, as a fan, expected to do here? I like Ricochet, I want to see him win matches and generally be a featured star. Am I supposed to just give up on him? Does WWE want me to give up on him? Do other fans want me to give up on him? If he goes on to win his next 50 TV matches and win a world title, would I be expected to sit there in silence because he lost to Riddick Moss clean once and worked Main Event a couple of times? This is a fool's bargain because you are ignoring the actual thing you can do. Support your favorites being beaten down and broken by the bad company by abandoning the company doing this action you disagree with. Leave, don't come back, and hope that others follow with you force the company to reevaluate. You are not going to make or break the bank for these people you are a fan of, so vote with your dollar until they are in a position to draw you back.

Meh, I don't blame him. Someone once said that Jon Moxley won the whole game by pretending he wasn't even playing. In other words, he is saying what he needs to say while collecting his check. I imagine that he may be singing a different tune when his contract is up.

That screencap will go down as one of the funniest this year. On a par with Brian Pillman's "It's Simple" and Undertaker's "Unbelievable!" ~ That's the most Cedrick Alexander esque post ever. Ricochet, dead in waters...

He's only at the start of the Cedric Alexander Rusev curve.

He's only at the start of the Cedric Alexander Rusev curve. Where does Tyler Breeze's, "Yeah, I just checked my bank account, I'm good." comment rank?

That tweet is 100% why Vince doesn't respect this dude or think he has any potential.

Ricochet.... people like you, are entertained by your matches and want to see you in a more prominent spot because you're talented. They don't want to see you constantly beaten or demoted. If you're cool with it, if you don't care, then people aren't gonna care about you when you're not on tv because some out of touch, rich senior citizen doesn't get you.

I... don't see what the problem is with that tweet? I guess it’s difficult to take offense to the tweet because he’s looking on the bright side in his own personal situation. However, I understand some being frustrated for him in accepting of the situation when many believe he deserves better than how he’s being dealt with.

I... don't see what the problem is with that tweet? He should start to care what capacity he is performing 'cause I for one am not rooting for a loser!

I’d rather a wrestler not bitch on twitter or Instagram about their push If they’re unhappy. Cause you know the smart thing to do is? Shut up, collect your check, and LEAVE when your contract is up.
Be a Moxley, not a Ziggler.

I... don't see what the problem is with that tweet? If I'm reading the room correctly... It's fans growing frustrated in his lack of upward momentum. By all accounts Vince wants guys going for that brass ring. This tweet comes across as the "just happy to be here" attitude that has sunk people before. Basically, "If he doesn't care, why should I?" sums up the complaints I think.

Some people wanna play nice till their contracts run out. Ricochet's probably frustrated but he's not gonna openly show it till it's time for his contract to be renewed and he tells them to shove it up their asses. At least that's what I hope he's doing because if not... yeah yikes

I also think there's just the "I'm a fan" side of it; if Ricochet is comfortable where he's at and feels fulfilled, then more power to him, but people who are fans of him want to see him succeed, not be placed in "this guy doesn't matter" spots. To those who'd like to see him in more prominent positions, such a tweet probably just feels more disheartening than anything else, because I'm sure any sane person is happy for him if he's happy with his current situation, but not happy as a fan who wants to watch a super-talented favorite rise up the ranks.

That tweet is 100% why Vince doesn't respect this dude or think he has any potential. No way, that tweet is 100% what Vince wants out of his babyfaces. The brass ring is bullshit and we've seen enough proof of that. Watch the promo where Braun is slobbering on Austin's nuts just for being able to stand in a ring with him and tell me this tweet couldn't have been written by Creative and handed to him. Could be he's just playing the game here, but there's no way the attitude got him here. Anyone who breaks the mold and gets something over never gets to last with it, Vince writes people off well before anyone's career reaches the point where they have to tweet that they're just happy to be there.
