If he's just working on NXT right now, that's definitely a demotion. Let's be honest, NXT has one job right now, and it's been failing on a weekly basis for a while now. It's not good to go from a talent relations / event organisation / general creative position to just running the distant third brand that's also failing by WWE standards.

Just now on Smackdown, when Michael Cole talked about how busy Triple H was when he got back to the desk: "I'm the only man in the world that can get demoted and get busier, apparently."

I mean...if you have more stuff to do and can’t delegate as much as you used to... I don’t know, spade’s a spade, man.

I can't believe he was demoted to being a cameraman.

If demoted HHH is replacing Corey Graves each week, it's a promotion for the product.

Sounds like he’s taken a focused role on making NXT more competitive with AEW and getting the Japanese version off the ground. Demotion is in the eyes of the beholder.

I can't believe he was demoted to being a cameraman. That would actually be a good heel manager gimmick. Always filming his wrestlers simultaneously and editing them in post to make his wrestlers look stronger

So since people love taking those thing sout of context
It wasnt a confirmation or even a report.
He said there were people that FELT it was a quiet demotion.
It is pretty much bullshit I believe that he was demoted.Someone overreacting very likely

Is It possible this is a move to protect him in the future?
If the keys of the company are going to be handed to him one day then they have to convince stockholders and the board that it’s a good move.
Having him overseeing developmental and building up a track record there and not being in a position where he can be blamed for current problems the company is facing overall seems like a strategic move so he’s not “tainted” whenever it’s his time to take over.
I could be talking out my ass as always.

This seems like less of a demotion and more of a lateral move to me.
It's Hunter so it could seen as Bi-Lateral.

Wasn’t it more of a gag if anything? I didn’t watch Smackdown but that’s how it seemed like from what people were saying. I also wouldn’t really see HHH admitting that on TV non-ironically? Just as a way to “work the marks” or whatever odd mindset they had.

The reality is, NXT's 'global expansion' is not actually a big project. It's a franchising of their wrestling school, and an expansion of scouting and try-out efforts onto a bigger scale with the effect of trying to hamper non-WWE scenes. And it's an expensive, unprofitable one. Even with Takeovers and the TV deal, it isn't bringing in a net gain; now that loss is justified for what having a top of the line school can do in terms of building up the next generation, but it is still ultimately a side project. Going from overseeing that and all of talent relations--where he can then have finger control over the goings on with contracts and the roster he wants for the future--to simply overseeing that is definitely a loss of power. Whether it's one that signals him losing control and clout or is simply him refocusing his efforts is the actual question. But the objective statement isn't one that says it defintely isn't or definitely is. The idea of NXT Global isn't even the worst idea, if it was being used in the way it should (Talent shifting around between the different Performance Centers to be able to learn each style of wrestling without there being a huge financial risk on the part of the talent to do so). But as long as Vince is around, that's not how it's going to function. Instead, it's going to be used to spread the stale homogenized "WWE Main Event Style" that we've all grown sick and tired of across the world.
