Triple H himself said he got demoted on Smackdown. That's the most firsthand source possible. Wasn’t it more of a gag if anything? I didn’t watch Smackdown but that’s how it seemed like from what people were saying. I also wouldn’t really see HHH admitting that on TV non-ironically? Just as a way to “work the marks” or whatever odd mindset they had. "I'm the only person who can get demoted and somehow get busier" It was a joke but more about his luck (you should get less busy with a demotion) than an ironic dig at the dirtsheets.

For what it's worth, he's still listed in his supposed former position on WWE's corporate website, and a major change in role like that in a publicly-traded company would surely have to be announced. corporate.wwe.com/who-we-are/leadership

There is nothing 'supposed' about it, their paperwork and reporting to the government is going to be the most up to date and trustworthy source anyone's got.

Fair enough, I had to wade through the report myself, but I found it.

I not the biggest rock and roll guy in the world, but I'd love for a band to have the name, "Quiet Demotion".

He was definitely joking about the reports that he got demoted.

he was actually given a quiet Demolition DVD. It was a preview of the upcoming Demolition set without any audio.
