Vince is the boss, same as now as in 2010 as in 2000 as in 1990 as in 1980, uh, 1982 I guess. You want to give blame or you want to give praise, ultimately it goes through that guy, even now. I just want to point out that Vince wasn't entirely in charge until all of Vince, Sr.'s guys were either gone or were no longer in the position to tell Vince how things were to be done. That would be at least until Gorilla Monsoon was out of the picture backstage. Much was made of Patterson and Brisco being "stooges" for Vince during the Attitude Era - there was a reason for that. Everyone else by then had either left or retired. What remains are people who are all too willing to do Vince's bidding as he wants it done, and who do not particularly care enough about the craft or the business to put either about their own paychecks.

Vince was entirely in charge when he purchased the company. Vince had respect for Monsoon and probably saw him as a father figure but the idea Vince wasn't fully in charge because he kept Monsoon around is silly.

The Wrestlemania one is worse than the other. The Punk one is just the usual egos and backstage politics. Doing wrestling at this time is literally putting those wrestlers and film crews lives in danger as well as there families. In case no one noticed we are in a world wide pandemic. People are dying by the thousand and currently there is no cure. But Vince doesn't care about any of that because he is a psychopath and lacks empathy for others.

And I guarantee you Hunter was pissed about that. Sting comes back, actually INSISTS on putting Hunter over at Mania, and Vince pulls that? Hunter wouldn’t care for that one bit, he’s tight with Flair, so you know he has a ton of respect for guys like Sting. Kinda makes me feel bad for Steph, honestly, being caught in the middle of those two. Let's not make Hunter out to be a great guy just because Vince is awful. Hunters buried a lot of guys in his time. The Booker T burial still leaves a bad taste in the mouth to this day. Hell he even tried to bury the Rock. The thing that makes me laugh with Vince was that he ended up using the WCW belt as his Main title over the WWE belt at one point. While he constantly praised Flair to the max even though Flair was a flop in the WWF and is mainly known for his NWA/WCW runs

While he constantly praised Flair to the max even though Flair was a flop in the WWF and is mainly known for his NWA/WCW runs That is almost certainly due to Triple H wanting to emulate Ric Flair. Flair is his hero (check his early promo pics). There's no doubt that Evolution was a way for Triple H to get his own Horsemen-style group, complete with Naitch himself, & the group holding all the top titles at once.

Vince just has more juice in those grapes than anyone else.
