While we're on the subject of the case, a bunch of Depp fans got money together to pay for some of the evidence to be released to the public, and it was mostly texts of Depp and Manson flirting with each other, calling Manson's wife "Amber 2.0", and being racist towards James Iha Funny how many times smol innocent boi Johnny Depp has been exposed saying racist shit just this year. Almost as though he's actually a piece of shit, when he's not playing Jack Sparrow.

So what has Johnny Depp been up to since the divorce some of you may ask?
Well, I’ll just leave this here:

Both these people absolutely suck.

This thread is no better than anywhere else on the internet on this topic, tbh. I stayed away from it for awhile, and I've stuck solely to what I've seen in court and in legal documents, but it doesn't matter. No one's mind changes, people focus on what they want to whether it's relevant or not, and it just winds up becoming some empty back and forth because of it.
I hope this thread never gets bumped again, but we all know it will.

I've stuck by the idea that Depp and Heard were both awful to one another. People want a narrative of hero vs villain or good vs evil. But there are no heroes in this story. Just two abusive assholes and an almost hilariously incompetent legal representation for one of the assholes.

Sometimes people just don't want to accept that in some arguments, everybody can be the shitty one.

I'm personally just tired of the narrative of having to believe that in some way, Johnny Depp has to be an abuser in this scenario. Like, either he's bad on his own, or they're both bad, but it can't just be that people watched the trial, saw the evidence and heard the testimony, and think Amber's the bad one. If you think that, there has to be some sort of other reason, like "not wanting to accept things" or being sexist, as opposed to hearing a story out in a court of law and coming to a conclusion based on that story. Even if the one holding that opinion doesn't think Johnny is perfect and acknowledges that.
After awhile, you get kind of sick of being spoken down to, and I should really just ignore it, but sometimes I get a bee in my bonnet.

I think if you wanna draw the conclusion that he's not a bad person, I think that's a bad conclusion to draw but you do you. But if you wanna draw the conclusion that he's not an abuser, you have to whitewash a lot of the textbook abusive stuff that we've seen brought up, and tell people going through the same kinds of abuse (both mental and physical) that you're not going to believe them either.

Literally, all I'm talking about is this case, between these two people, as I saw it play out in court with evidence and testimony for a month and a half. Please do not tell me what I'd think about any other scenario, because unlike other people, I don't talk in absolutes and I take situations on their own facts and merits. But thanks for trying to paint me with a brush I don't deserve. I'm not gonna allow you to, but I appreciate the effort.

I've looked at the evidence from the court, including the things that were unsealed. Seriously, he sealed statements from psychiatrists saying that he beat her, statements from himself that she never caused him any specific injury, tried to imply she was a prostitute and submit her nudes into evidence, intimidated witnesses, implied that her friend dying in a car crash as a teen and her getting speed tickets somehow meant she killed her friend (she didn't) and manipulated photos to look like he had bruises on his face when he didn't.

And I watched weeks of a trial and looked into stuff on my own besides. Seems like we both looked into stuff and decided what we believed and what we didn't. Much like another poster said to me: you do you. I'm not here to tell you what to think or feel. My point is that, unlike you all, *I* don't sit behind my keyboard and tell people what they're thinking and why. I don't presume to know any of you or who you are as people. All I did was discuss what I saw in court. I didn't bring in victims as a whole, I didn't imply anything about anyone else, including those engaging in conversations here, but I and others like me didn't get the same treatment. That's what my post is about. And also like I said in a previous post, no one's mind is going to change. So, you can save yourself the trouble of grandstanding to me, because I'm choosing to approach this like an adult and leave you to what you think. All I ask is that you leave me to what I think without the condescension and indirect name calling.

I'm slowly going through all the documents that Johnny Depp's own fans got unsealed. Horrid stuff. Repulsive, even. Makes you wonder how this case would've been treated if Johnny Depp wasn't a beloved Hollywood darling... and Amber Heard didn't have the worst defense team in the history of litigation. Second Twitter post is part of a larger thread that I will not post here, both for language used, and because it just awful stuff. Graphic details of abuse, including sexual abuse, Johnny and his friend Paul Bettany talking about drowning and then burning Amber, with Johnny talking about doing things to the body.

That's what my post is about. And what my post was about is saying that anyone who reads the abuse being excused - and has gone through (hi) or is going through some of that themselves - will feel the dismissal on a quite personal level even if you say it's all on a case-by-case basis. Take that as keyboard warrioring or an attack if you want.

Has Amber learned how to use the toilet by now? Or is she still leaving tightly coiled piles of butt brownies on people's duvet covers?
