I think Ichi may be my favourite video game character ever and not just because we share a namesake.

I think Ichi may be my favourite video game character ever and not just because we share a namesake. Nanba is my favorite but Ichi is somehow able to be the best person and never once does it feel even remotely forced

Ichi is adorable and too pure for this world.
I've just started Chapter 4 and am having a blast. As usual, it's difficult to actually play the main story because exploring the map, the side quests, and mini games are just so much fun.

Always impresses me how much content they put into these games, they even got a whole ass Pokémon game in here. Just made to Dondoko Island, have absolutely no idea what I’m doing but I’m sure I won’t be able to put it down once I figure it out. Another great game from RGG.

I have to admit... {Spoiler}when I first started the game, I would have no clue one of the villains would be a megalomaniac cult leader who wants to commit a nuclear waste fiasco.

I had to force myself to leave Dondoko Island otherwise I would have just stayed there until I got it to 5 stars. The only thing that made me leave in the end was getting more blueprints from the main island. It's a game in its own right.

70 hours in and I still haven't hit chapter 10, did all the dondoko stuff to get it up to 5 stars (worth it for the money), every sujimon battle, every side story... What a game.

Y'all talking about Infinite Wealth and here I am who just finished 7 a few days ago.
Went ahead and finished the True Final Millenium Tower too for the achievement. Would have been a climactic end to my playthrough, but I still had one more achievement to do to finish, and that one was more tedious than maxing out job levels despite taking shorter time.

Recently beat Yakuza 3 (specifically, the remaster). I really enjoyed it. I know it's often considered to be the black sheep of the franchise but honestly, didn't have any problem with it gameplay-wise and I thought the story and characters were great. Mine in particular is a fascinating character despite how infrequently he appears on screen (or perhaps because of it), and in my opinion the most succesful attempt at an anti-villain amongn the games I've played (which would be 0, Kiwami 1 & 2, Yakuza 3 and Judgment). I even enjoyed the orphanage stuff as that was cute as heck and it was nice to see Kiryu catching a break for once. It got to a point I was almost annoyed when the actual plot started. There's some truth to the criticism of the enemies blocking too much, but I still feel people really exaggerate how bad it is, especially considering I only found it to be a problem early on, and even then only really against bosses. Speaking of, I wonder if the fight against Rikiya, being so tedious and happening so earlt, may have coloured some people's view of the gameplay as a whole and setting them against it regardless of how it develops. With that said, I figure that as long as you vary your offence, apply heat move sliberally (an,d fortunately, the heat gauge fills up fairly quickly) and start swinging weapons, the blocking isn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be. Also, am I the only one who thought the chase and investigation moments in this games were better than in Judgment, the game where you play a PI? I have now started playing Yakuza 4 (again, the remaster) and am already loving it. There seems to be quite a few quality of life adjustments from 3, the graphics seem massively updated, the gameplay is undeniably more fluid (in fact, I have to wonder if they designed Akiyama's combo-heavy fighting style specifically to compensate for how stop-and-go the fighting in 3 could feel as a result of the blocking) and the upgrade system is much less grindy (which is one of the few serious criticisms I have for 3). But most importantly, I immediately liked Akiyama as a character. Right off the bat, he's got the sort of laid-back yet principled attitude I love in a character and even though I'm only on chapter 3 so far, there are already hints that there's a lot more to him that's gonna be revealed, and that he's been through some shit. As much as I like Kiryu, I'm kind of hoping we keep spending most of the game with Akiyama (and I mean, Kiryu has already had three games to shine, so it's interesting to follow someone else).

Can just say, if you were able to enjoy 3 & 4 on their own terms then 5 is absolutely going to blow your socks off.

I'm on the 2nd half of the Final Chapter. Gonna knockout the final floor of the Dungeon first, hopefully the boss at the end isnt as brutal as {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}THOSE GODDAMN ROBO MICHIO RANGERS! in the Hawaii Dungeon. With almost 90 or so hours put into this game, I'd say this game has been worth my money spent.

Well, just finished Infinite Wealth. I may have to go back and replay Yakuza 0 in the near future because it’s likely going to be between these two as my favorite of the series, such a great game. Now to finish most of the side stuff, though I’m not sure if I have it in me to grind up for the hardest difficulty dungeons, we shall see! {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Not sure where they’re going to go with Kiryu and the rest of the OG characters but a lot of the tying up loose ends in this game felt like a good way to move on from them. That fight where the Tojo Clan bigs teamed up one more time was a mark out moment though. I’d probably miss them if they were gone for good, though!

Just finished Infinite Wealth.
Not sure how I feel yet about the post credits scene, but I loved Kiryu's speech after the final battle.
Excellent game. Might mess around with premium adventure a bit before diving into FF7:Rebirth.
Also does anyone know how to switch between Hawaii and Japan, haven't seen it in the menu items yet
