Most of the Bond films have bad guys that are more interesting than Bond himself.

No Old Country for Old Men. Anton Chigurh. If you disagree, don't let him hear you say it, or else. The first time I saw this scene I remember letting out a long breath when he left the store. It was so tense I hadn’t realised I’d been holding my breath throughout. My pick is Gary Oldman as Stansfield in ‘Leon’. A perfect cross between a Bond villain and a cartoon character, he held the screen whenever he was on it and made an already excellent film better.

The Matrix trilogy. It falls off a cliff after the first movie, but Hugo Weaving just owns every scene he's in.

I guess this is a weird one, but I imagine Se7en was a movie, that when it came out, everybody wanted to know who would be the crazy person committing crimes based on the Seven Deadly Sins. You never see him commit any of them, or even kill anybody, but you were always like, "Man, this guy is going to be wild!" and then Kevin Spacey just turns himself in. lol.

The Karate Kid Part III, for this guy: The movie wasn’t good but suffers greatly because the heels were cool and the faces weren’t likable.

I think if Gary Oldman was the bad guy in the movie, it instantly adds bonus points to the movie

Also, Idris Elba in Hobbes and Shaw. When you’re over the top to where the Rock is looking at you weird, that’s a big statement.

Plenty of Disney movies. Maleficient in Sleeping Beauty, Frollo in Hunchback of Norte Dame, Cruella de Ville in 101 Dalmatians, etc.

The murderer in slasher films are always way more interesting than the heroes (Vorhees, Krueger, Myers, etc) The best example of that is the house of 1000 corpses franchise. Especially the devil's rejects

Eddie Redmayne as Balem Abrasax in Jupiter Ascending. It's actually the only Wachowskis film I think is bad, but it is really really terrible. However, Redmayne is just devouring the scenery with reckless abandon in every scene he's in, and it's hilarious and captivating, and worth watching the movie for him alone.

Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St. and pretty much any other franchise fueled entirely by the masked antagonist.
