Eddie Redmayne as Balem Abrasax in Jupiter Ascending. It's actually the only Wachowskis film I think is bad, but it is really really terrible. However, Redmayne is just devouring the scenery with reckless abandon in every scene he's in, and it's hilarious and captivating, and worth watching the movie for him alone. It's like he had contempt for the role, couldn't decide whether to underact or overact and decided "f*** it I'll do BOTH!"

One can't blame him for having contempt for the movie, the only genuinely good thing about it is the spaceship design and general aesthetic. The concept of it is good but it focuses on all the wrong stuff and the writing is just insanely bad.

The 1989 Batman. Jack Nicholson’s Joker is just legendary and so quotable.
And an honorable mention goes to Bob The Goon, too.

As said earlier in the thread - Last Action Hero, Charles Dance. 100% the top answer, imo.
He's not a villain as such but Bill Paxton as the sleazy used car salesman is absolutely the highlight of True Lies.
Also, Rocky III: both Clubber Lang and, if he counts, Thunderlips. In the flesh, baby!

Surprised no one's said the obvious recent example:
Oh they fixed Sonic's design you say? Do you have any idea how irrelevant that is to this film?

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is my favorite bad movie of all time, and all the villains are so over the top and quotable.

Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York
I heard that Daniel Day Lewis is so serious about method acting that he actually needed back surgery after carrying that film.

The Monster Squad is a fun little movie on its own that gets a massive kick in the ass with Duncan Regehr's portrayal of Dracula, which might just be the best in film/TV history.

Depends on who you view as the true bad guy of The Shining. Jack is awesome, obviously, but Stanley Kubrick and his crew made that hotel in to the main character of the movie and every time I watch it I'm fascinated at all the new little details I notice in certain rooms or certain corridors. Jack, Danny, and Dick are great, but the hotel is the star of that movie and it's why I keep coming back.

If you watched Rise of Skywalker for anything beyond Palpatine....... He only has about ten minutes of screentime. If you're watching it for that reason... watch something else.

I thought Frank Langella was great in Masters of the Universe That he still, as recent as a couple years ago, considers it one of his favorite roles makes me so happy. And he's been vocal about that for a good 20 years before now too. If you watched Rise of Skywalker for anything beyond Palpatine....... He only has about ten minutes of screentime. If you're watching it for that reason... watch something else. Yeah I factored that into my post which is why after the extended ellipses ............... there was nothing.
