As technology has evolved, some products are brought to market that seem cool as all hell or provide an alternative to an existing product. Unfortunately, a lot of these products end up being terrible or not living up to the hype. What have you purchased that just made you ask, "What the hell was I thinking?"
My personal one is the Microsoft Zune. I'm not a fan of Apple products and on-demand music services were somewhat primitive at the time. It's still somewhere in my house, probably propping up an uneven table somewhere. That is probably the best purpose it has served in over a decade.

Blackberry Storm. Bought it on release day and thought it was great. Except it didn't have many support apps, people were shifting from BBM to iMessage.

I got Dreamcast, the PSP and the Wii at launch and within a month I kind of regretted each respectively.
Came close to getting the adidas_1 in 2006 and I feel that would have been a huge regret as well.

I mentioned this in the Eternal Champions thread, but for Christmas one year, I asked for the Sega Activator. Eternal Champions came with it. Man, that thing was a piece of shit. I should actually apologize to my mom for that. lol

Before smartphones I bought a portable MP4 player, not even a good one. I had visions of watching Futurama or the Simpsons on its crappy tiny screen while commuting. I never managed to get it to work.
The stupid thing is that even though the technology is now on phones to do this easily I never use it.

I spent over $1000 on a tablet computer years before I ever drew and just used it to go on the internet.

I have a special affinity for that platform with my friends and I playing some fighting game that kept saying "You are on the verge of destiny" or something really close to that. 15 year old Hova might have been getting down with his girlfriend in the next room on the futon with that repeating every few minutes. God bless the Dreamcast!!!!!

The Apple HomePod
An overpriced smart speaker that I barely use cause it’s in the same room as my entertainment system which has a surround sound system and an Apple TV .. and I use my Apple Music account through the Apple TV most of the time.

I don’t really have any regrets, I kinda collect odd and old electronics, but when I bought my first iPod in 2008 it was a Gen 2 iPod Touch and the guy at Radio Shack was desperately trying to convince me to buy a video Zune. Glad I didn’t bite on that one, I’ve been an iOS user since 2008 and I still quite love it.

I bought a Samsung smartphone about 6 months before anybody besides Apple figured out how to do them well.

That sounds like stuff the Soul Calibur announcer would say.

A Zune. Not because I didn't like it, because I did. But mine bricked like a month into owning it.
