DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHING HACKS!! Hacks is an NBC Universal production. HBO Max merely airs it. It’ll likely be the same for something like Abbott Elementary that Warner Bros produces but Disney+/ABC air. And considering that show’s success, I’m sure if Warner Media decides to retract that Season 2 order, Disney will be happy to produce it.

Yeah if WBD cut Hacks, Kabletown would love to put it on Peacock.

I'm really distraught at the multilayered onion of bullshit in the way of ever getting more Infinity Train.

AE is a co-production of WB (United States) and Disney's 20th Century Studios (everywhere else), so yes, Disney could easily continue making the show if WB doesn't want to continue their involvement. In the case of Hacks, I would imagine that HBO Max can keep the episode catalog for awhile after the series ends, then NBC Universal has the option of taking it back and putting it on Peacock.

Apparently Aquaman and Shazam might have their release dates moved as well.

HBO MAX is included in my AT&T Subscription so it's likely any other app would be too (maybe? Who tf knows now with their greed) but why would they think anyone would give a crap about Discovery +? Why not merge it with the app that's ALREADY WELL KNOWN AND ACTUALLY USEABLE.
Just do away with executives. They're worse than useless

This has been a goddamn gutting. If you want to be technical, Flash counts as a cancellation since this upcoming season will be its last and essentially ending the Arrowverse. I will say the killing of CNN plus was a mercy killing. Man this sucks. Everything sucks

I just want to know how the hell Discovery became such a major power player, that they’re the ones calling the shots on what kind of content HBO and Warner Bros. gets to produce.
It would be like if National Geographic suddenly became the dominant brand in the Disney+ portfolio, and decided that what the viewing audience wanted was actually fewer MCU productions and more spinoffs of “Wicked Tuna.”

They likely have a war chest of funds as a result of the ridiculously high profit margins said type of content would grant them. It is also why the leading rumor with the supposed death of HBO Max that they are gutting HBO’s scripted output in place of more reality TV nonsense. It’s all Discovery knows now.

Starting to think maaaaaybe somebody in the gov. needs to take a look at this deal again if their big plan is to shutter a bunch of productions and sell movies back to prod. companies as a tax write-off, because even if it's technically legal, it all sounds reeeeally shady.

Warner Discovery.
You can buy the WCW out of the corporation, but you can't take it out of it.

So this new guy is taking the sledgehammer to all these shows and movies just for the f*** of it? Why mess up a good thing if you don't have to smh Because he can't claim it as his own success. I mean what's the point of being an executive if you can't take credit for things and pass blame onto others if they fail?

So this new guy is taking the sledgehammer to all these shows and movies just for the f*** of it? Why mess up a good thing if you don't have to smh But these HBO shows cost more than Discovery shows, and can't have that. Everything's gotta operate with a shoestring budget. Last Week Tonight is gonna be an interesting show to keep an eye on (outside of the fact it's f***ing amazing), will new Business Daddy allow John to make fun of them as AT&T did? AT&T let John say whatever the f*** he wanted to about them, will Discovery do the same? Also, will they give John the money that he got previously, John's been sued for calling out people and Warner stood by him, are they gonna try to reel him in on some things? Warner gave him the money to buy 5 wax presidents, and then film trailers for movies with them and Anna Kendrick, James Cromwell, and Laura f***ing Linney.
