Don't worry, they may have gutted a whole bunch of things people wanted, but this... THING is on the way Holy shit, I'm getting flashbacks to Vortexx on the CW getting replaced with One Magnificent Morning.
Time really IS a goddamn flat circle.
Also, didn't Magnolia Network get sued for having a show where it's hosts ripped people off with shoddy work?

So this new guy is taking the sledgehammer to all these shows and movies just for the f*** of it? Why mess up a good thing if you don't have to smh HBO Max, like most streaming services, operates at a loss. It's taken until this year for Netflix to stop relying on massive loans to cover its day-to-day operating costs, but remains $16 billion in debt. Disney and Amazon are able to eat the costs of their streaming services due to the gargantuan profits in all the other areas of their business portfolios. Warner Bros. Discovery is between $43 and 57 billion in debt, and David Zaslav is a risk-averse mind of CEO and doesn't see any value racking up even more debt in an effort to catch up with the rest of the pack in the hope that the service might also become self-sustaining in 10-15 years. Thus, the business model going forward will be cheap content on streaming, freeing up cash to funnel into movies and HBO content.

HBO Max has just gone from a "maybe subscribe someday" to a "NEVER subscribe ever" if this shitshow is going to be their business model going forward.
There's already enough of this unscripted reality bullshit on cable and you already have that Discovery+ crap.

I mean what's the point of being an executive if you can't take credit for things and pass blame onto others if they fail? Ah so the Vince McMahon plan then.

If Warner Bros. Discovery is shredding scripted programming in place of more reality-based shows, should wrestling fans start worrying about AEW?
It was a monolithic corporate merger that killed the last prominent wrestling federation, could it happen again?

It was a monolithic corporate merger that killed the last prominent wrestling federation, could it happen again? Oddly enough, wrestling is not classified as scripted programming, and is generally categorised in both reality TV and live sport. Also, it's super cheap. If anything, it should appeal greatly to Zaslav.

Alex Zalben covers most shareholders calls and industry coverage and I feel with the Warner Media Discovery shareholders call going on, this is a good representation of how people are feeling right now.

After the bloodbath the past few days have been I don't know why anyone except the most tip-top stars would risk working with WB any time soon.

I wonder what Ted Turner would think about all of this (he hasnt had any connection with Turner broadcasting since 2006 mind you, but i'm talking about if he still worked there).
