Artificial scarcity on digital platforms is so f***ing stupid. Between that and the whole datacap fiasco, this is the sort of garbage that happens when content providers are the same companies as telecom providers. I'm expecting Comcast's Peacock service to be similar in this regard.
Peacock hasn't been any better that I've seen. It has a cool feature where they show groups of SNL sketchs on a streaming channel and they do the same with scenes from The Office. It's cool to throw that on in the background. Other than that, Peacock is a giant meh as of now as well.

The movies in the "Last Chance" section are the movies that would have been on HBO/HBO-Go/HBO-Now for a limited time before moving over to Cinemax. Since HBO Max includes everything on HBO/HBO-Go/HBO-Max, subscribers get access to the movies that HBO offers for a period before moving to Cinemax. Contracts are contracts. It's not like Warner brass are sitting there being like "Hey, here's a good way we can honeydick them into buying our service", if they had deals with other channels or services they can't just up and break them.

Why the f*** would they even launch with those movies then? What a bad bait and switch. The last thing this service needs right now is to piss off its existing customer base. If you think this is bad, I can’t wait to see how hard Peacock is going to flop. HBO Max has a good library to work with. I dunno about NBC Universial- can The Office six months from now really be any kind of killer app ten years after it ended? On one hand, at least Peacock is substantially cheaper to watch everything, but on the other, Peacock is making you pay extra to not have ads (and isn't going to have anything goddamn close to Hulu's selection to justify it) and that could very much be a turnoff. Really the only upside I can see to Peacock is that it's the first time in years that Law & Order has been streaming anywhere but that's constantly in syndication anyway. Yeah... you can turn on a random channel at like any time of day and almost be guaranteed to hit Law and Order of some variety eventually.

You know what show would be perfect for HBO Max? Babylon 5. It's a show with a devoted cult following, it's owned by WB, and it hasn't been on a streaming service since Amazon Prime.

Me neither, because Disney aren't incompetent.

Me neither, because Disney aren't incompetent. Disney started planning for Disney+ years before launch, and started scaling back their licensing to other distributors. And even then, there's still Marvel, Disney and Star Wars stuff that can't launch on D+ yet. Also, if I'm not mistaken some of the Marvel movies are scheduled to leave at some point due to a contract with Netflix

Add another movie to the pull list. They pulled Gone With the Wind from HBO Max today, but that is real world quite obviously. Just a mention, so let us leave it at that.

Could be wrong but know that was one of them. EDIT: Also, you have to remember, we in the UK and Ireland were pretty close to not getting as many Disney movies nor The Simpsons because Disney only just renewed its deal with Sky right before they started planning for Disney+. The only reason we did get them were REALLY last minute deals mid February, so it wasn’t exactly smooth for them either.

AEW Dynamite and HBO Boxing should be on the service.
As a boxing fan, having access to 40+ years of fights would be great.

The whole 'rotation' thing sucks. Maybe it was just my own perception, but I assumed this would be a 'home' for DC's movies and shows prior to this thing's launch. This has to be an all-timer when it comes to awful launches/disappointments.

Also likely FITE who have the rights for some of the events internationally or in other Latin American countries since they look to launch it there next year.

And yet, Disney+ has disclaimers in its descriptions for that (I'm assuming said reason, and if so, I understand...but if there is more to it, sorry for not acknowleding. Never saw GWTW beginning to end, actually!!) Heck, WB did that with its animated DVDs, and even more directly! (not just fine print, they had a brief video at the beginning IIRC)

I’ll just say right now that it probably won’t go well if the Gone with the Wind conversation goes forward so probably best to just say it got removed and leave it at that.
