even local news network wrote about this.. and naturally, people refused to show any compassion to her...
and then we wonder why people are not feeling well.
The Internet has made people suck even more.
Rest well Hana, You didn't deserve this, nobody deserves this.

The BBC News article on Hana is the second most read story on the site of the day, which is pretty powerful given what we're going through right now.

I wasn't familiar with Hana beyond playing a couple matches as her in the most recent Fire Pro game, but the circumstances surrounding this are just goddamn tragic. Cyber-bullying is really too soft a term for what is targeted harassment and abuse, and I think that's why so many people don't take it seriously (same goes for the term "bullying" in general if I'm being honest). For someone so young, beautiful, and (by all accounts) talented to be driven to the breaking point by anonymous vermin is just ****ing horrible.

I know this might seem random; but Hana has made such an impression on me, just from her look alone, so much so that, when I used to be involved with the wrestling RP scene on Twitter, I had an account where I had Hana as the look for the Original Character that I had. She just looked like a megastar and carried herself like she'd been wrestling for 10 years despite barely being in her 20s. This is a loss that effects a whole bunch of people from the fans to her colleagues to her family and the fact that it's being picked up by various news outlets hopefully prevents this from happening again.

A tragedy, indeed. People need to realize that words do hurt, and need to realize the importance of spreading positivity and kindness.
I may not have seen much of her work, but a rising star gone at 22 is still too soon.
RIP Hana Kimura. May your star shine among the Cosmos.

My company made me write an article about it and I’m sick. I don’t want clicks off of suffering

Something needs to be done about online terrorism (yeah, that's what it is.) Between social media and reality tv, no wonder society has become full of mutant dickheads.
I just hate that this happened. I didn't know of Hana at all, but not too long ago, a teenager in my area committed suicide with her father's gun in the woods from online bullying.
The people who engage in shit like that seriously deserve every bad thing that happens to them.

Any of the accounts attacking her are likely already noted by police, but in Japan they can’t really face consequences unless the family of the deceased issues a complaint to my knowledge. I hope the Kimura family do more than issue a complaint considering that these people drove their 22 year old daughter with her whole life ahead of her to her death. I'm more surprised that the people haven't turned themselves in due to just the amount of guilt I assumed that they'd be carrying around? They should feel guilt, but most won't. So many cyberbullies have a mindset that the internet isn't real life, and they'd never say the shit they say on the net to someone's face, so it's okay. Which, no. If you're an awful person on the internet, you're just an awful person. RIP, Hana.

This is a f***ing travesty. Only 22 years old. I'm just at a loss of words for how cruel people can be that they can drive someone to do such a thing.
RIP Hana. You deserved so much better than what you got.

Kairi's tweet is especially heartbeaking twitter.com/KairiSaneWWE/status/1264132437581406209It is just how she ends this with....I DIDN'T MAKE IT is heart wrenching and I hope she does not feel the need to carry a burden with her thinking she failed in anyway.

I've never watched Stardom so I didn't know who she was until this post, but this is a huge f***ing problem. A 22-year-old kid should not be bullied and harassed to the point where they feel they have literally no other option but to kill themselves. This is one of the reasons I feel so strongly that anonymity in social media needs to become a thing of the past. Bullies NEED to be held accountable for shit like this. RIP Hana, I'm sorry it had to end this way for you.

I can't stress enough, I have a Facebook group that was opened in hopes of stopping this, at least across the wrestling business: www.facebook.com/RealIndyRevolution/Talk about all kinds of things, but really, I am hoping for people to use the forum to alert others when something like this is happening.

I just hope the article changes a lot of attitudes towards social media. They should be used for positive messages and communications not hate. A young life ended too soon will hopefully not be for nothing. So tragic. RIP. I can’t imagine what her fans, friends & family are going through.

Shocked and saddened, such a great talent and a lovely young lady with so much to give and to do..How anyone can say and do such vile things, how some can be so cruel ill never ever understand.
Rest in peace Hana, you were fantastic, much loved and will be missed.

This is the toughest wrestling death for me in a long time. She just worked MSG last year and got over in front of a crowd that was largely unfamiliar with her. At the beginning of this year she was in the first women's match in the Tokyo Dome in several years. It looked as if she would become an even bigger star through Terrace House. Now she's gone. I thought she was going to become a huge international star.

The depressing truth is, if you're the kind of person who would bully someone online like this, their suicide is not going to be a wake-up call, because you already have a number of cognitive defenses to keep from feeling guilt about what you do. If anything, it'll increase your cruelty, because it'll just strengthen your justification that emotionally weak people shouldn't call attention to themselves, or whatever bullshit you're using.
Cognitive dissonance has changed schadenfreude from entertainment into a moral good for a lot of people, and it's terrifying.
