My Spotify decided to play Friday I’m in Love by The Cure the second I closed my work laptop for the weekend. Good omens.

Finding out I’ve got three bottles of ale awaiting me when I thought I had one.

While running my daily miles I was listening to Mike Tyson on a a podcast when he started talking about the high, rush and spirituality that comes from running outside as opposed to treadmill. Good stuff.

I’ve laid some stones down in the garden, put away some camping gear and tidied up the conservatory - all before 1pm England time. The rest of the day is mine to spend as I wish. This pleases me.

FFL draft via Discord today. I got Kelce and Jackson, and someone took a backup defense.
Today was a good day.

A young racing driver called Pierre Gasly won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix. It was a lucky win under strange circumstances but his delight and emotion at winning was a joy to see.

Got grocery shopping for the next two weeks done. Got all the laundry done. And now I got 3 days in a row with nothing to do.
Heading out to the pier in an hour to watch the sunset and work on some projects.

Something set the dominoes tumbling in my head and I remembered the song "Brimful Of Asha" by Cornershop which I love but legit probably haven't heard since I was maybe 15.
Added to the Spotify,.

My puppy listening to me and obeying my commands. I didn’t have to shout or get exasperated, and the fact we had a field all to ourselves made it better.
He’s not fully trained yet at all, but it’s progress.

The NFL season looks like it's certain to actually start, if not finish.

A friend of mine gave me some incense sticks to try out since I said I've been kind of stressed out as of late and they have been doing me wonders. Been feeling much more chilled and relaxed as of late.

I got our air sensor mounted on the front of the house today.
The wife applied a few months ago to get a sensor to test outdoor air quality in our neighborhood. We were approved and it arrived Thursday. It is now on the house, powered up, and transmitting data to the good people at Purpleair.com.
And just for the record, our air quality is shitty right now.

I had undoubtedly the greatest day since the pandemic started and one of the best days I've had in years overall. It was definitely an up and down day.
One of my good friends works as a dealer at one of the local casinos. His car is in the shop and his wife was working a double shift today/tonight at the hospital. He asked me yesterday if I'd come and pick him up when he got off at 7 tonight. I said sure. Anyway, I text him as I'm leaving my house about 630 and text him about 650 when I get there. He doesn't answer me and it got around to 715 and I decided to mask up and walk in and see what's up. Obviously, if he's dealing a game, he won't be answering my texts. I find him dealing blackjack and he tells me he just got told he has to stay until 8 due to some people calling off. He said he'd get me a free meal at the cafe on our way out.
I didn't really want to go back out to my car and figured I could find a secluded video poker machine. As a bit of a backstory, I play poker pretty seriously in normal times and do not have any slot or pit game habits. My one vice in that regard is video poker. I find one away from everyone and it is my favorite variation. I hit the service button and ask for them to sanitize the machine and I get to work. I'm doing alright on it, was up and down, and up and down for about 30 minutes. Suddenly, I have a multiplier and 3 Aces dealt to me (this is a very good start in Double Double Bonus). I ended up getting a taxable jackpot of just short of 1600 when I made 4 Aces with a 3 kicker.
So I got a little less than 1500 profit, a great burger and fries, and actually got out of the house for a bit, all for doing a friend a solid. Karma might actually be a thing after all.

I’d stopped playing Fallen Order for a few months as I couldn’t defeat the Ninth Sister for love nor money.
Tried it again yesterday on the off chance and beat her second time out. BOOM!
