C'mon Marty, I know people tend to look older now but just because she was in the bar you really couldn't tell she was young?
This reads better then before but still questions that will be asked because it sounds like bull

STOP. MENTIONING. THE. LEGALITY. FOR. F***. SAKE! He's hammering that point, it's basically him saying "legally I did nothing wrong, you may morally have a problem with something I did but everyone has different morals. But I did nothing legally wrong so let me get on with what I do"

Marty continuing to mention the legality is very much a "I did nothing criminal so I'm not going anywhere" thing. Of course, the ROH brass or Sinclair could say otherwise.

And if he is an employee they can push that envelope if they want If this goes criminal, then he's f***ed anyway but ROH is weighing their options heavily I assume. If you can't make smart judgments in your own life, we can't trust you running our operation

If you have to bring up age of consent, you know you're doing wrong.
Notice I didn't say illegal, I said wrong.

Does the U.S. not have wrongful dismissal laws? Or would this not apply to a contracted worker? If he's an independent contractor it is a bit of slippery slope but they could go that action. If he's an employee then he's subject to whatever laws all employees in ROH has and whatever state they are in But yes we do have wrongful termination. If he's an employee there is most likely a clause in the contract saying they can dismiss an employee at their discretion when it comes to this type of stuff. They aren't going to fire him just because of an allegation but with him admitting to having sex with a 16 year old, while legal out there it opens up doors here. At the very least the woman is disputing it was consensual and that can be assault which can get him canned Also depends if the state is At Will employment. You can be fired for any reason for that.

Marty and Joey Ryan were both removed from the uploaded BTE ReCut of episode 199, if that's any indication.

Yea, in the end it is most likely headed for a messy break up Marty is going to argue he didn't do anything illegally wrong but ROH is most likely going to side on caution with well she may have been legal age but her argument is consent wasn't there Of course ROH could possibly keep him saying they believe him and riding that horse with him

Right, even if isn't illegal, if I'm a company I'm not keeping around "dude who sleeps with children."

Right, even if isn't illegal, if I'm a company I'm not keeping around "dude who sleeps with children." Right. As discussed in another thread 16 is a legal age but in the U.S. it is different. 16-18 is consent between two parties but once you are 19 and over and still dealing with a 16 year old, the parties parents can technically classify that as assault So yeah, Marty can say it was legal but he works in the U.S. and in the eyes of many that is still a "child" and you were a man in your mid 20's. Nothing about that is right no matter how he tries to slice it

Ugh. Even if it's not illegal, having sex with a drunk teenager and then trying to cover your tracks afterward is just...goddamn it, Marty.

As far as Ryan and Scurll go, both of those guys are all over BTE episodes. Marty was a flat out cast member on there for quite some time and Ryan had the whole deal with Page.

Nothing about that is right no matter how he tries to slice it I'm not defending Marty at all, but just from a legal point of view... isn't it within the UK's jurisdiction to take any legal action instead of the US? Sinclair/ROH can probably terminate him anyway, as I'm sure his contract has some kind of morality clause, but it does seem mostly cut and dry from a legal point of view.

Again depends on the employment rules of the state. If it's an At Will state they don't have to worry about legality at all, they can just fire him.

This reads better then before but still questions that will be asked because it sounds like bull I've remember being in my early to mid 20s and meeting some of my sister's friends that looked older than I was and were only 14-16 years old. If they were getting into bars, I could see dopey guys that are just looking to get laid that would assume they were of age. Now, it sounds like the accuser told Marty her age, so if he knew.... well, that excuse doesn't fly.
