So he gets off not because he's exonerated of wrongdoing, but because of a damn technicality.

It's an unfortunate situation where someone sucked at their job and someone escapes the consequences for it. Like I agree that we need these protections in place but it's still pretty frustrating in this specific case.

yes, i for one am glad the courts are going to hold with society's reasonable expectations that prosecutors and the criminal justice system not go after people for criminal activity

Sorry, I’m about to go nuclear I’m so furious, not just that he’s getting out but the circumstances.

This is NOT acquittal, this is someone didn’t do their job right. Logically, Cosby can be retried, but between his age and previous accusers not wanting to do this again (and really, who would blame them)… This sucks. And it’s why women have this mentality to just keep your head down, eyes closed, get it over with and stay silent. I respectfully disagree. Never ever stay silent if someone hurts you. Justice may be slow and painful, but if you do not believe, people keep getting hurt. EDIT: Holy shit… just seeing the DA who screwed up was Bruce Castor, the defense attorney for Donald Trump at his second impeachment. Just stating fact, do NOT get political here. No need to get political, but there's evidence Castor ain't bright.

Well if it's any consolation, no one in their right mind will want anything to do with him from this point on. And he is pretty much a joke now.

On one hand, it’s awful that this POS goes free on a technicality. On the other, there’s nothing he could ever do to regain his public standing. And that was oh so important to this preachy, egotistical monster. His legacy isn’t “America’s Dad”. His legacy is being a known rapist. Sleep poorly in that knowledge, Cos.

Sad truth is because of this technicality, the PA Supreme Court kind of had their hands tied here. Damn you, Bruce Castor.

Even if they overturn it, at least he has served some justice. Not that I hope that happens or anything, but he can't get that time back at least. Exactly, 2 years in jail isn't anything to sneeze at, especially for someone as ancient as him It sucks in this case since I believe he did it, although if he was illegally sentenced it would set a bad legal precedent to allow that to stand If he did even a quarter of the things he was accused of he got off lucky, but he didn't exactly get away with it* (It meaning the charge he was actually convicted of, not all that other stuff)

Really doubt his prison time was the same as others.

yes, i for one am glad the courts are going to hold with society's reasonable expectations that prosecutors and the criminal justice system not go after people for criminal activity That's not what the decision was saying, that's a shitty misquote meant to provoke this (justified) outrage. The initial agreement that the DA's office made gave Cosby immunity, which is a very common and important part of the judicial system. The current DA not following the terms of that agreement is a display of pure incompetence, and a miscarriage of justice for the victims more than anything.
