Bret knocked Vince out with a single punch. I don't think Vince has had many real fights in a long while and probably has a glass jaw for all the bravado. Karate incorporates full contact sparring so Eric would be in the better position to absorb the hits. By all accounts Vince gave him his chin. If you get a free shot most people will get knocked out

If you get a free shot most people will get knocked out Yes, but would Vince be able to defend his chin as an untrained fighter against a trained fighter? Vince is crazy, definitely. But there's really very little in the way of history conveying that he turned that craziness into ever being dangerous. People talk about his craziness like he's Meng, when he's never even proven he could be Randy Anderson. On the flip side, Bischoff is actually legitimately a black belt. But also doesn't really strike me as a practical fighter. Have you ever been in a bar and seen two drunk guys go at it and no one break it up or a video of a normal fight online? It's really exciting when it starts and then quickly transitions to the reality that neither of these guys is particularly skilled at this, nor are they conditioned for the physicality, heart rate jump, and adrenaline of a fight that lasts longer than 60 seconds. I think it would have been boring. I don't think either would have f***ed the other up royally. 2 minutes in, I think it's just two sad guys pawing at each other. Especially a roided-up Vince. Gassed up guys gas out very quickly, famously. And I think it's 100x more entertaining as a what-if, kinda like Sting and UT at Mania. Lots of hype, very little substance.

I want saying Vince would win. Just pointing out giving someone your chin and actually attempting to fight are two different things.

I get that he gave up his chin intentionally, but the question is would he be able to not give it up unintentionally? Could be different or could be exactly the same.

If he did show up, I can see Vince having body guards with him. I don't see Vinny going into enemy territory by himself.

Bischoff would probably make sure that legit tough guys like Norton and Steiner would come out with him. Now, see, that's what WCW should have done when DX showed up at Nitro: open the arena door for them, and standing on the other side are Meng, Barbarian, Norton, the Steiners, Saturn, Regal, Finlay, et. al. They wouldn't have to do anything, just kind of nod and wave. It'd have been enough.

That would have been, no pun intended, "freakin' awesome" but it could have gone the other way with DX trash talking those guys since most were lower card guys. If DX hadn't gone too far the WCW guys can't put their hands on them but DX can trash talk with the best of them. I do think they didn't try and go too far because they knew what might be on the other side. IIRC one or all of the DX thought "what if Haku is on the other side?" In typical WCW fashion I highly doubt they thought of such a great idea to combat the WWF guys.

In a fight you are only as strong as your eyes and your balls.

Despite Vince fully wanting to do it a group of lawyers would’ve told him Not to

I believe Bischoff said his plan was to let Vince in, let him go to the ring, but if Eric got in trouble, The Giant would come out to help.
Which begs the question: Would Vince's crazy beat Giant's size?

It would have served no purpose for Vince. WWE was back on top and rolling along. All showing up would have done was give WCW a huge boost and make it seem like they are where anything can happen. They would have been able to legitimately claim that they are "Where the big boys play". People criticize Vince for never acknowledging the competition but it is valid. Your organization is the only one that matters and no one is anyone until they work for you. It can make you a step above everyone else in the fans eyes. This would have just brought Vince down to their level.

Bischoff knows karate, but Vince knows crazy. Vince would immediately try to tear out Bischoff's eyes. Vince is the guy that a couple of years later would randomly shoot wrestle Kurt freaking Angle. He was also willing to throw down against Mickey Rourke's entourage. So Vince would lunge in with no guard up and get a kick in the head. Wanting to randomly fight people doesn't mean you'd be any good at it.

Vince actually has an amateur wrestling background. So he’s not just giant muscles and crazy
