I never saw it as falling over a cliff, season three had the stakes raised in a way the show hadn't previously seen during the build to Zeo. It's the season where Zedd and Rita basically prevailed in every major storyline. It's a pity they never reached that level again and how to step aside for the Machine Empire If only the fanon Zeo finale 'Scorpion Rain' had happened. When is the last time you watched S3? Me and @sigmax can tell you from experience that Season 3 fell off. They were starting to run out of ideas. The stakes were really artificial. Ninja Quest is the best thing about S3 and that was at the beginning. Also Bulk and Skull finally becoming good guys. Otherwise the reason of the season is the Kim leaving storyline. Then Master Vile comes and it is basically cruise control between that and Alien Rangers until they finally get to Zeo Season 3 feels like a bunch of padding. Getting new zords in arcs, twice (got to sell them toys), episodes that didn't need multiple episodes ^All of what he said Season 3 is just one giant f***ing slog through Saban doing his damndest to milk every last drop out of MMPR. Kims farewell is the best and most memorable thing about the season....then comes the bullshit with Master Vile and the stupid crap with them transforming to children...which just never f***ing ends when ya want it to.....AND THEN comes the utter butchering of Kakuranger in a make no damn sense 10 episode extension that feels like more dirtt ontop of a full grave at this point in the show. And we have said it every damn time...seaosn 3s biggest issue IS IT KEEPS GOING WHEN IT SHOULD GAWD DAMN END AND WE CAN GET TO ZEO!

NOPE. DON'T LIKE THIS. I was in 2nd grade when this came out. I went to the theaters and watched it multiple times, and when we got it on VHS I watched it constantly. I had the soundtrack. I was obsessed. I do not like that this was TWENTY-FIVE years ago at ALL. WE OLD. Oh Power Rangers Movie.. The show hit at the perfect time for me (kindergarten) so movie really did feel like this culmination/peak for my fandom. I remember the f***ing McDonalds Happy Meal Toys. Collecting them all (despite also have the official toys). I remember the video game based on the movie on the SNES, which was dope, cause it was co-op. The movie itself was whatever. Even as a kid I didn’t hate or love it, it just was. “I’m a frog” gets a kick out of me to this day. Island woman made young Fade feel weird. Ivan was the gem of the movie. And I think everyone that watched it as a kid also remembers seeing it again for the first time in a while, looking at the graphics and going “Yikes”.

SNES was the best version of the game even if it didn't have anything to do with the movie. The sega version was good but just a beat em up

And iirc the movie games versions controls felt more refined, better level layout etc.

Not that long ago, and I stand behind what I said. As a kid I was engaged with season three and as an adult I remain very impressed with it. The storytelling, Kim's departure, Rita and Zedd constantly having the advantage, the fillers felt important...it was just head and shoulders above the standard fare of seasons one and two, both of which only had sporadic bursts of actual progress. If I could change just one thing, it would be to pull the trigger on Zeo right after the Metallic Armour trilogy.

That was 60 episodes and not meant to continue past one season Season 2, absolutely not. In between the big episodes, you had episodes focused on the team. First half of season 2 was all about the intro of Zedd and Tommy storyline. Once he loses the green ranger powers and gets the white ranger powers we focus on the new kids. Once the Power Transfer happens, we get episodes that focus on Rocky, Adam, Aiesha and the team in general. The only flat part of S2 is the last 4-5 episodes with the storybook and wildwest rangers

All the more power to anyone that enjoys S3 but for me personally it was nothing but a slog that drags out the carcass of MMPR well past its due date when MMPR should have been 2 seasons at max and moved along into a proper DaiRanger adaption.
Still bothers me to this day we never got those suits...untill well you know when f*** all of that sucked.

Yea, if you wanted to go Ninja then just go full Ninja with it. Would been an easy transition and considering Saban was paying for extra footage anyway for the fights he could did that. Tommy can keep his suit and you have a fresh new ascetic in general
Tho I have my reservations. S2 was good because they put their own production into it. Zeo was good too but clearly Saban wanted to go as cheap as possible and just use the footage

I remember when this video played on tv on FOX bout the time the movie came out. And thinking the song was made for the movie. Nope. Yep, this was what I remember from the soundtrack. Me and this other kid did the wave during the credits to this song.

It would have really worked well with Rocky, Adam and Aiesha basically already being right behind Tommy in martial arts training and you can throw in that Tommy and Jason showed Kim and Billy how to fight in martial arts to tie that all together

Anyone living in the UK of a certain age will remember this, it was an absolutely massive hit over here when I was a kid about a year before the movie. I found out relatively recently that they began by writing in a Manic Street Preachers fanzine, which I found pretty interesting.
Anyway, I think I must be one of the only children of the nineties who never liked or really got Power Rangers. I feel like a freak.

I haven't watch this since I was a kid, but I loved it then. I think I'm too afraid to watch it now and have the memories of it ruined for me. Though, to be honest, my favorite memory of this movie is walking out of the theater with my parents and my dad whispering just a little too loud to my mom, "What in the f*** did we just watch?" It's the only time I've heard my dad curse, so that's how I know he must've really, really hated it. Ha, reminds me of my mom taking my brother and I to see Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze. She knew about the Turtles through us, so it's not like she was going in totally unfamiliar, but afterwards I think she was wondering "Did I just spend my afternoon watching a kids' movie that ended with a Vanilla Ice performance?" Looking back...yeah, the original movie still holds up great, but Ooze is more fun to look back on as camp. As for the MMPR movie, it's funny, I was in third grade around the time Power Ranger mania really took off, so around 1993-1994, and I was all about it - I'd even sometimes try to get out of school early because the show aired on Fox at 2:30pm, so I'd try and come up with excuses (didn't usually work at all, of course), and once it moved to 4:30pm I'd get home from school and try to tear through my homework so I could sit down and watch it without that hanging over me. Then season two came along and I pretty quickly started losing interest; don't think it helped that I was obsessed with dinosaurs as a kid and hated seeing the Dino Zords go away, plus some of the original cast leaving hurt it for me. So it's funny, but for a kid who was super into Power Rangers for a bit, by the time the movie was coming out my fandom was already waning, so I never went to see it.

Love that Ivan got taken out by a dick kick I love the implication that the Megazord even has a Dick Kick Button that the Rangers never get around to using.
