From Fightful/Fightful Select/411Mania and other sites: 411mania.com/wrestling/kairi-sane-said-to-have-complicated-status-in-wwe/It's incredibly messed up that Kairi may possibly end up having to retire because of WWE's negligence. Obviously like mentioned in the news report, she may not be done yet, but I don't have much faith in the main roster to handle her correctly considering they didn't care about punishing Nia for injuring her. And them giving her an ambassador role is what they tend to do with talents that they feel like should retire, likely to avoid potential lawsuits.

Read this earlier and basically what I took from this was.....it is a whole lot of nothing just to say IDK.
Vintage SRS putting what ammounts to...I really don't know anything behind a paywall.

There was something there. WWE trying to move her into an ambassador role for WWE Japan is a move to prevent her from speaking out about working conditions. They do it with every wrestler who may speak out if they get cut or leave (move them to another role in the company). Paige and Jason Jordan are good examples of that.

"And in the WWE, when we want to throw someone into the steps and/or barricade, we grab them firmly by their head, make sure you're under five feet from the obstacle, then pitch their head directly at the obstacle with all your strength, as if their head were a medicine ball. (Side effects include mild to serious concussions, facial lacerations, risk of damage to the occipital protuberance)"

Yeah, this seems like there’s way more to it and WWE doesn’t want to know what the “way more to it” is and is willing to pay her to not be in that position.

Got to agree, this seems like a whole lot of we dont know.
Clearly there was some plan for her, possibly to use her a recruitment tool and scout to set up NXT Japan, where she may have wrestled for them.
But we dont know.
Clearly it's now all the rage to jump on literally EVERY news story to shit on WWE, but this one is stretching it.

It's not really stretching it when WWE attempted to shove Kairi into an ambassador role to potentially keep her quiet. It's also not a stretch to say that they were negligent about her health when they put her in the ring with Nia Jax three times in the span of a month, and every single time she almost got injured or did get injured. And it's pretty obvious they want to keep it on the down low. Remember a month or two ago when Dave and Bryan got reports from some people in the company who were saying there was pushback behind the scenes to fire Nia after that stairs spot. Obviously nothing came of it, but its still worth noting. WWE deserves all the bad PR they get these days. The mishandling of the COVID stuff, #SpeakingOut, and refusing to punish actual unsafe workers deserves to be called out.

Kairi should wrestle, but it should be outside of WWE. After they put her with Nia to ger hurt not once but twice, I would not work for them again.

Why would she agree to be a WWE ambassador in Japan unless she was medically forced to? If she's staying with WWE, she would likely make more money and keep having her name out there by wrestling for them, and if she goes back to Japan, why not leave WWE and work for a local promotion instead?

WWE is adamant in starting a NXT there and gutting New Japan, Stardom and other promotions there like they did The UK. Sounds like they are forcing her to be one and refusing to let her wrestle anymore. You know that quack of a Doctor they have is already printing out the results and notification that she is unable to wrestle anymore like with Daniel Bryan.

The culture surrounding pro wrestling there is far different from what Vince or Paul knows. After how WWE has handled the pandemic compared to, say, New Japan, any goodwill they might have garnered in Japan is long gone. They can't sign the major players without grossly overspending to bring them over (if they can get them at all - money isn't everything to some.) Plus, they've not had a good track record in pushing any New Japan or Stardom alumnus/alumna that's passed through their doors in the last seven years - or they've pushed, then depushed and buried. Besides, after the debacle surrounding NXT UK, it's pretty much known to all and sundry that WWE's aim has not been to co-operate, but to co-opt and dismantle.

Being an ambassador doesn't necessarily mean you have to also be retired from in ring action. Natalya is basically an ambassador for WWE and she still wrestles all the time. All this really would be is Kairi being the one that WWE can put out their to publicly be the face for their expansion into Japan.

This article doesnt know. But, it is fun to dog pile on WWE right now, and every one is free to believe whatever they would like.

I suspect that WWE as a company is libel- and slander-proof at this point. Like, look at the fact there could be possibly between 4 to 30 cases of COVID, the company is saying nothing about it and outside of a local paper, nobody else cares. If Disneyland opens up next Saturday and in two weeks we hear about several cases coming from there, I guarantee you there would be way more press about it and Disney would construct a giant makeshift broom to get people out quick enough.
