I saw the trailer.
It's even worse than you can imagine.

Hard pass. Low-brow tripe. Yes, shallow and pedantic.

It's Star Trek trying to be Rick & Morty.
Meanwhile, Star Wars makes Clone Wars and Rebels.
Good to see Star Wars can definitely still win things.

Nothing against a humorous ST show, but I do lament that given the potential of animated Trek (which even the often wacky 70s cartoon managed to explore at points), that our first example of it in 45 years is an okayish looking workplace comedy.

It's sad to see how far Star Trek has fallen.

This looks like what everyone thought The Orville would actually be.
I'm curious as to what future Star Trek Online missions are gonna be made based on this show.

The title reminds me of the awesome season 7 episode, which would be a great premise for a full show.
This...is not that.

Star Trek is capable of comedy. It can't all be serious. But this is blatantly "lowest common denominator" humor. Any bozo can smash their palms on a keyboard and write sex jokes, bodily function gags, and gratuitous violence and a portion of the viewing audience will definitely go, "That there be some funny stuff, I tells you what!" Good comedy requires effort, structure, and awareness to timing. It's why Star Wars Detours was mothballed: they didn't want Disney to think they were going down that path of irreverent shtick.

I guess i have to be the lone guy and say I thought it looked okay. Prob check it out. All this hate talk for it reminds me of when trailers dropped for the Harley Quinn cartoon and everybody pooped on it but a good amount people finally watched and liked it. Not saying everyone has to like/hate the same, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t hate that trailer. Definitely had a Rick and Morty feel to the character design, but past that, it just seems like a Star Trek comedy, and I’m okay with that.

Coming to a streaming service I don’t have, so I won’t bother..
A Cat person though, did no one working on this show watch “Final Space” another recent sci-fi animated comedy set in Space and see that it also had Cat people among the main characters?
I actually like Final Space, is the third season far away?

Star Trek is capable of comedy. It can't all be serious. Star Trek has done comedic episodes very successfully. I can think of a handful of Voyager episodes mostly centred around the Doctor, several DS9 episodes, and a half dozen TNG episodes. Trek can be downright hilarious when it tries to be. I'm certainly not against the idea of a Star Trek comedy series, but this looks painfully unfunny.
